Helloooooo! Hugs to all that need a hug and best wishes to all, and well done on wins.

Well, I have been for my second mammogram yesterday. Fairly scared but they said it was a technical issue, but still a worry. Have to say Houdini would have been impressed with the positions i had to get into . However, after losing my partner last year to prostate cancer and having 2 sister in laws that have been fighting breast cancer and have overcome it - one has beaten it twice and now in remission, I feel that the discomfort i went through yesterday is nothing and I told myself not to be a wimp :rotfl:- just waiting for results. :).

I have been busy gardening, and tackling brambles!! Lol looks as if i have been self harming myself, but brambles were just getting their own back!!! Fairly nasty plant!!!! But I did apologise to the plant as i yanked it out :o. Hope everyone is keeping well. Alf xxxxx

Really sorry to hear that Amilucky? I know how much you and Alice were looking forward to her coming home. To be honest our experience of Private care leaves a lot to be desired too. My DD had to have a Colonoscopy and went through the Private care that her employer provided. She had to only eat white food for 24 hours and take a really strong laxative the night before which kept her up most of the night. The following morning she had to take an even stronger laxative and when we got to the hospital they said that the procedure was cancelled due to illness and that they had been trying to ring her. Had they hell. She has an answerphone and her mobile is always on and with her, neither showed signs of any calls.

See, you set me off there :) Hope you don't have to wait too much longer for the big day, thinking of you.

Well done Alf - I'm sure all will be fine. These things have to be re-done often.

Hope you get things sorted out soon Amilucky? No-one ever seems to get things right these days.

Love and hugs to you both x

Yes, well done Alf, I hate those things. I think I only have to have 2 more then they're over for me. I keep putting off making an appointment for my regular smear test :o I know it's stupid and when it's done you wonder why you didn't do it before. It's just making that call.

Well lovely peeps. Make the appointment sooner rather than later please. I know its painful and not pleasant. But over in minutes. It could save your life.

If my partner had gone sooner re prostate (years ago), he would be alive now. He just didnt realise, had no idea. When he did, it was too late. However, we found out after a lot of research that it seems to be genetic, (his father and his father before him suffered from prostate cancer and the father before him). my son now has the opportunity to be tested every year re psa. Too late for my partner. But hopefully my son will be monitored every year and keep safe. xxx

    I'm going tomorrow :(

Great for your son Alf. My neighbour's family have a history of breast cancer and they found hers early.

:A Just a couple of minutes to make the appointment. Go for it peeps. My son knows now how important his appointments are after the death of his dad. He has to have psa readings. My daughter too has to have check ups because of family history re breast cancer. It just takes minutes but could save your life. Life is for living, take a wee bit of time out to get checked out:T:T

I will make the call tomorrow, when my Daughter went she told the nurse how I was putting it off and she said that it was 3 minutes for 3 years, doesn't sound a lot does it? It's just the thought of it.
