Many thanks for your kind wishes and support it really is much appreciated and very heartening to read :iloveyou: all
have just come back from the hospital after getting very upset and loosing my rag a bit with the head ward nurse when I asked her when they set the discharge date did they not inform the social services that they needed to put a care package into place and if they did why has Social Services wasted a week and only initiated a care package on Alice's day of discharge?
the ward nurse said that Social Services had been informed on the day that they had set the discharge date and that usually Social Services have a care package in place before discharge, she then asked me if I would like to make a formal complaint to the PALS service I said no because I have logged everything that has happened to my wife on a day to day basis over the past five and a half weeks and have created a dossier which I intend to send to Jeremy Hunt the present secretary of state and his health ministers
she said I will get on the phone to your social worker and find out where we are at at this moment in time, she then got back to say that he was on the wards but that they would continue to try and get hold of him - 15 minutes later I was told that he was going to meet me on the ward and another 15 minutes later he arrived with a care package and to say that Alice will be discharged tomorrow afternoon and that she should be home for tea time
he has put into place 4x 2 carer 1hour daytime slots and 2x night time slots which consist of 9:30 am 1:00pm 5:00pm 8:30 pm 1:00am and 5:30 am
I really wanted an earlier slot in the morning and a later slot in the evening but hey ho I suppose that I am very lucky to get the above package considering all of the cut backs that are presently taking place
will need to get up to let the carers in at 1:00am and 5:30 at first so I don't expect to get much sleep I will get a TV installed in the bedroom and will watch telly with Alice in the bedroom until she falls asleep and then creep out and do a bit of comping until 1:00am then try and get 4 hours sleep and get up again at 5:30 am and then try and get another 3-4 hours sleep before the day time carers come
they are going to install a key safe at a later date on the front door so that the night carers will be able to enter a code and let themselves in
thanks for listening

Awww glad to hear Alice is coming home tomorrow. Sorry you had to jump through some hoops to get her there though.
Sorry to hear about your partner Alf. Good luck for your results.
I always go for a smear test when due and I never put it off. I just think that they do it all the time and there's nothing to worry about. I lie down, legs apart and relax. It never hurts and very rarely feels uncomfortable. you can do it everyone.
Just had a policeman knock on our door asking if we had seen or heard anything regarding a recent occurrence. DD1 came downstairs after to ask why the police were here because "We've (DS and DD1) have been good upstairs" Was so cute :blushing:Current Aims: Laptop/PC, decent money, holiday

My DH said to let him know when the appointment is and he'll warn the nurse to tie her legs to the table in case she falls in!
Glad you seem to be getting sorted AIL and I hope they get the keysafe fixed up quickly for you. You'll be worn out keeping those night hours.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Sue, get that appointment made! My sis put hers off for 11 yrs and when she finally had a smear she was shocked to be recalled and was a category 3 (or is it 1...more severe?)She got treated and is fine now but it was a wake up call.
Your hubby sounds like mine....he asked the midwife when I was in labour to find his wedding ring up there!
Becks, I just checked the drawsome and the drawing was Santa but they gave you the wrong letters for some reason! The drawing has froze on mine so not sure if it has on yours too!
Got free coffee sample in post today. Gonna go have oneBig thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
I just spat my coffee at the wedding ring comment

Do you enjoy Drawsome Wingo? I mistakenly clicked on your name 50+ days ago and it keeps reminding me to draw for you. Shall I or have you got enough to do?Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams
