    Points to note:
    1. This product is available at PixMania. Delivered for £122+£6.30=£128.30. Plus 3% cashback from Quidco.
    2. from Curry's, £129 delivered, 1.5% cb.
    3. The latest cutting edge 7" tablet is now available for just £159. The Google Nexus 8gb.

For a £20 difference, if people don't like the BB SW, then the GN has the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a quad core processor, with really good reviews. So there you go, I've contributed as much as I could today! :D

In case anyone was unaware ... Pixmania have a mixed reputation. The following is based on comments I've seen (and have contributed to my reluctance to use them) ...

Pixmania is part of the Dixons Store groups, is based in France and have no official presence in the UK. Goods from Pixmania often arrive with French accessories (eg power leads etc often require an adapter [usually provided]) and although UK orders are distributed by Curry's, Curry's do not provide after Sales service for them. Don't take your Pixmania purchases back to a Currys or Dixons store expecting a refund or exchange.

They are governed by French consumer rules and all support is done through the website. They are very competitively priced, but can be difficult to deal with if something goes wrong .... much like dealing with any none UK based supplier.

    Oh dear,
I didn't know that! Does that mean that distant selling protection doesn't apply? I always stick to eBuyer and eBay for electrical stuff. Good information ianfabris!

I bought one in store late yesterday. I have only played with it for about an hour but I am pretty impressed. Graphics seem pretty good. I did a little research before buying but erroneously read on a website that I could watch love film. However that info was a little out of date... but may change in the future. Games for the kids are a little limited and I'll not be paying for Angry Birds!

I think it's huge selling feature is it is 64gb so you can put loads of films, music etc on for the kids or yourself for trips. Ok battery life may be limited but it appears to be a universal charger?

Anyone here can recommend a stand type leather case (for hand free movie watching) for playbook? Looked at certain ebay items and they are shipped from US, so over all comes to £10. Anything cheaper?

    Brilliant, thanks for this.

Tbh, I ain't too fussed on super-duper capabilities.

Tbh, if it plays Youtube I'll be more than happy, my little girl keeps asking for my Iphone to watch youtube, so this will do and with that memory allows me to add maybe movies or a game or two if okay.

    That's her Xmas sorted.

Was going to go for the Nexus and Ipad Mini but they are more expensive.

I might opt to get the wife a tablet in the near future anyway, so might opt for one of these anyway.
