I've reported the post as Spam.

No doubt I'll get a b*ll*cking for it, but it IS Spam.

  • Dear forumites,

When discussing private parking tickets, PLEASE keep your comments on-topic and don’t comment on the personal lives or personal details of anyone associated with these operators. Our view on unfair private parking tickets is very clear - we are against them and we support our readers and forum members in fighting them - but we do not and cannot support personal attacks on any individual, be they a consumer or otherwise, on our forum. The wives/husbands/children of representatives of private parking operators are not relevant to the debate, and it is unfair to use the forum to publicise private family details.

We posted in August last year about the huge resourcing difficulties we were having in managing the parking boards, and we are asking you again to think about this when using the forum, and to keep your comments helpful and civil. The forum has never been about personal vendettas – it is all about helping people to save money. Please help us keep it that way.

The Problem I have with the MSE fora, especially those concerning private rented accommodation and property investment is the amount of misinformation posted on here. There is one particular poster, with over 6,000 posts on here and 20,000+ on CAG, whom I have had to reprimand publically for posting incorrect advice on three occasions. .

Consumer regulations are complicated and forever changing (e.g. Property Misdescription Act), and someone acting on poor advice could well suffer financial loss.

I am relatively new to the parking board, and do not have the specialist knowledge to judge replies, but it does not seem to be a problem, but If posters are consistently reported for posting misinformation do you take any action?
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
