Because I work in the Post Office and whenever we get a recorded delivery for a Jobcentre,we always ask for the senders postcode and house number,9 times out of 10 we have to return to sender because they dont get picked up.
I know what I'm talking about.

You can say I'm wrong but you didn't, you said we said the same thing, which we didn't.

    Hi there
I have recently appealed my ESA award. I sent it First Class Registered. However, 7 working days after posting, the PO tracking information still states as being 'progressed through our network for delivery'. I just wondered whether anyone has had similar problems. I am thinking of re-sending, although my month deadline has now expired.

I guess that if a First Class Registered letter is still being 'progressed through the network for delivery' seven days after posting, then you are probably entitled to ask why no attempt at delivery has actually yet been made!

First to be clear, there is no such service as Registered mail, it's either Recorded or Special Delivery.

I guess it's Recorded the OP is meaning, which is not tracked at all, and is not treated any different to a normal stamped letter, apart from a signature is needed at the door.

The OP can ask why an attempt has not been made but I would think the answer will be, it is not considered lost until 15 working days, and even then as it is not track there will be next to nothing to be done about it, apart from claiming for the lost mail's postage.

For Christ's sake, sniggings, with respect you have no idea what you are talking about.
If you want to carry on making yourself look stupid, please carry on but I'd suggest you might want to wait until you are a bit more sober.
The OP's letter was delivered BUT it required a signiture,a signiture wasn't available so the letter is now sitting in the nearest distributing Post Office, waiting for someone to come sign for it.
That's what 'being progressed through our network for delivery' means.

    calm down calm down :rotfl:

Now what have I said wrong

When an attempt has been made the site will say so, the message it is progressing... is made as soon as a Recorded item is posted.

Changes are the item has been delivered but not signed for.

    I give up.
Never argue with someone who has no idea what they are talking about.
They drag you down to their level and beat you on experience.

You are correct in everything you have said on this thread. I imagine gooligan's employer would not be too happy if they saw all the misinformation he has given!
