Afternoon all ,
I ordered some goods paid £10 for 2nd class standard as that was the only option available , fairly bulky item.
I recieved an e-mail 7 days later to say sorry for the delay but the courier was collecting that day , which was a friday.
Parcel finally arrived last night (tuesday) , so 10 days after i originally ordered.
It was delivered by myhermes , looking at their website and doing a quick quote it cost them £3.30 to send it! sent in an old toy box wrapped in one layer of brown paper , collected from their house so no petrol cost. So it's cost them say £4 all in and i've paid £10 and waited 10 days , so i'm not too happy.
I've sent the seller an e-mail to say i've recieved it and i'm happy with the item but not the delivery charge and wait etc. will see what they say.
Would you be peed off or should i let it go?

I would be a bit peed off by this too, however, you knew the P&P when you bid on the item? I always tend to look at the item price + p&p to see if it's still going to be a good buy.
If the seller doesn't respond to your email, the only thing I would imagine you could do is mark them down in their seller rating and leave appropriate feedback. If they did give a partial refund, I'd probably be a tad more likely to give a better fb/stars4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
yes , I agree with you there. I did add in the £10 and I was happy with the price overall , it's just the fact that it's such a big difference not just a couple of pounds and with the 10 day wait. The seller knew they were late sending it out yet still sent it the cheapest and slowest way to make a profit on the p&p. Naughty really. I'll see what the reply is and leave appropriate fb and star ratings.0

Difficult one as the postage cost was in the listing - but it seems to be an excessive postage charge.
Not worthy of negative or neutral feedback in my opinion - I wouldn't leave neg or neutral in this instance but I would hit their stars for postage costs.0 -
yes , the postage was in the listing but was for 2nd class standard , so i presumed it would be second class or standard parcels which would've been £7-8 I thought so the £10 seemed about right. Ifi'd known they were going to use cheapo myhermes i wouldn't have paid £10.0

If they do not offer partial refund on the postage, I would be very tempted to leave neutral feedback stating something like "pleased with item but excessive postage charged" and make sure you mark them down for P&P in their stars0

I've just had an e-mail back to say that i'm being pedantic and that she has to pay for petrol 8 miles away plus parking to get the brown paper?! so no she won't refund me the difference or any part of it as she doesn't deem it an overcharge?! based on the fact that other sellers are charging more to post the same item?! Great seller attitude there then! lol i said it really doesn't matter what others are charging as they could be using one of many different couriers and paying a different price. So even though , she said she had 5 parcels collected on the same day , I have paid for all the brown paper and parking and petrol for them all too?! cheeky mare! i'm feeling more inclined to give her a neg than a neutral for being so rude!0

she's just messaged back again to say i'm obviously a moaner and grow up and she's reporting me to ebay?! lol0

Still think a neg is harsh in these circumstances. Her attitude is disgusting though. Neutral is probably appropriate something along the lines of "pleased with the item but postage rates are astronomical and seller doesn't respond well to communication" and then give her lowest score on the relevant stars - postage and communication.0

I can understand your annoyment as it is excessive however you knew the postage so I would say if you were to leave negative that would be unfair, I would say netural and learn from it.
Same as buying something from a online big store and their postage being £3.95 even though it's like under £1 to post something light pair of knickers etc, you have to work the postage into the price of the item and weigh up if its worth it.0 -
i knew the postage but the item wasn't sent by the method the seller had stated? It was stated royal mail 2nd class which would have been a lot nearer the £10 mark for the size and weight of the parcel.
If it had come speedily and without hassle of useless hermes i wouldn't have bothered e-mailing the seller but after a 10 day wait and the courier updating the tracking 2 hours before he attempted delivery (he put it as 'left in porch' even though I was in and don't have a porch?!) so then i'm panicking thinking it's gone to the wrong address or been pinched off my doorstep, not impressed with them at all. That's how i ended up on their website as i was going to complain then i saw how cheap the delivery options were compared to what i'd paid.0
