Be that she is perfectly capable of discussing it on the forum, there is a fair chance she was capable of discussing it with the DWP.

She started discussing it on the forum on 22/8/2012.
Her ex moved in with her in Jan 2012 so she may possibly have been incapable of contacting the DWP when she should have i.e. as soon as he moved in.
Now the reason is; My ex partner lives with me , but in a separate bedroom. We are NOT together.
He moved in in jan this year, after my postnatal depression got to much, and i couldn't cope.

I really don't think the investigators are likely to buy that story. Can you imagine the backlog of claimants under investigation, all of a sudden claiming to have come down with this infectious bout of amnesia? I guess its worth a try, but I wont hold my breath that they will buy it.

I think it unlikely that the investigators will buy it, either.

There are a lot of contradictions in her posts.

I was just putting forward a reason why I agree with Errata that her ex could have and should have contacted DWP on her behalf as soon as he moved in.

marybelle01 - the OP has apparently had a relationship with another guy since they separated so I don't think she is as bed ridden and incapable as her posts suggest tbh!

As I have said repeatedly and very clearly. I do not believe the OP. My comments were a response to criticsm of Shelldean, who is not the OP and was in a very different position. What I or others may think of any individual circumstances is neither here nor there since what the DWP thinks of it is the real test. But the generic criticism of anyone and everyone who happens to be both a benefits claimant and have mental health issues was uncalled for and unfair - people make mistakes and even the DWP are capable of recognising that. It does not make everyone who makes a mistake a fraudster. And nor does being forgetful whilst sufering PND make someone an unfit mother for the whole of their childrens lives, as the same poster suggested.

This is the point that I make to anyone I'm sorting HB out for.

We don't sleep together 7 nights a week; we both run large companies and work completely different hours, but in the eyes of the government we do things as a family, we live together and we are a couple.

Legally in your case, you've gone nothing wrong, however you should have declared his income as h/h income.

Tell the DWP the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth in the first instance and you're going to be viewed with a lot less suspicion later down the line.

FCS, please don't tell me you're 'married' on Facebook or the like. That will play into their hands!

Cllr do you tell your constituents that they have legally done no wrong when they clearly have? as this OP clearly has withheld information that would have a big financial implication on money she has received from the govt.

The OP clearly has done something wrong.

Her circumstances changed and she did not inform DWP of that fact - that was wrong.
They are her benefits and she was responsible for reporting changes.

Whether DWP will accept that she was not fit (health-wise) to do so remains to be seen.

I'd be quite interested in CKHalvashi's clarification of this:

She started discussing it on the forum when she got the letter accusing her of benefit fraud and she was worried she might go to prison, she said she was mortified.

Sorry, I've just read back through the OP (I've just woken/got up, as I spent 24 hours driving before I read that), and money should have been deducted; whether that being a fair rent for the room or the household income.

My advice of telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth still stands!

From my calculations, there would be an o/p of around £900, which OH/ex-OH/whatever he is should (in theory) be able to meet from savings in the top paying account.

Sorry about that; I'm a nightmare when I post when tired.
