I think I might actually scream!

I've done the ASDA test a few times and failed every time. Weird that I now work in retail for a different company who didn't assess me via computer but by personal interview!
I clearly am good enough but computer says no.
Also I hate group interviews as well so I think that's definitely out

I read on another forum of someone who was having issues with failing the test online, they said that they called up ASDA and they explained that the test works on a points system, where they look for a particular score. Something as simple as mentioning the word "ASDA" in the question about why you want to work for them can boost your score a little. Maybe it would be worth giving them a call if you really want to be considered? I'm not sure which number it would be, probably a head office one of some sort.
I'm also under the impression that they favour people who already know of someone who works there, so it may be worth filling in those details if you know of someone who already works for them.
Good luckThank you competition posters!

I agree with the sentiment that recruitment methods in many companies are poor, and tend to unnecessarily exclude certain groups. The language maybe not so much.Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0 -

sorry but i've been seeking work for about 8 months now. (term is significantly over-used for people who are claiming to seek work when in reality they're spending 56 pound a week on booze and living with their parents, seeking nothing but drugs)
and nobody can say i dont search hard enough, ive been to every major company you can possibly name, even considered moving out the city, and i still cant get a job thanks to corrupt and unfair tactics. And if you're wondering what COMB stands for...CITY ON MY BACK0 -

I don't remember getting the option to mention wanting to work for ASDA specifically and I don't know anyone who works for them but I do have the number of who's dealing with the recruitment for this store so I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what they say.
Thank you

Feel your pain. I've not been unemployed as long but it doesn't take long to get frustrated at the lack of opportunities and also terrible recruiting processes.
And above all else the absolute worse thing is being tarred with the same brush as the layabouts who do not want to work but are happy to take the money. I am NOT one of those people. I started work at 16 and it only stopped being frequent when I went to uni. I've paid taxes, I contribute to society. But that doesn't stop people calling me a dole scrounger. It's infuriating!0 -

It's so good to know there's someone out there who's in the same boat as me. I've been looking for you lol, I knew you existed.
But joking aside, it's absolutely terrible, and something needs to be done about it.And if you're wondering what COMB stands for...CITY ON MY BACK0 -

haha well i know a lot of my friends are all in the same boat after graduating.
At our graduation ceremony the vice principle told us that if we struggled to get a job afterwards we had to keep telling ourselves it is not our fault, but rather it is the fault of those who have messed up our economy. Which is all fine and well but not very comforting when you find yourself in that situation

It really has nothing to do with the economy as there are loads of jobs out there but lots or employers with bad attitudes too.haha well i know a lot of my friends are all in the same boat after graduating.
