Very annoying I agree that companies like ASDA are using a computer says no test to select applicants and don't give a s**t about previous experience working in that sort of working environment. A few years ago they would have had to literally kidnap you off the street to come and work for them.

Just a thought but could you reapply again, using a different email address?

Been thinking about that. Might give it a go when i've calmed down ;)

Really? Blimey... I'm one of those people.... didn't know that.
If you look at the tests, you'll see 99% of the time they're effectively assessing Neurotypical abilities. In fact if you put employer's psychometric tests, and tests like the AQ test side-by-side, there isn't too much difference.

Edit: read under heading chapter 15 http://www.aspergermanagement.com/working-aspergers

In addition to my earlier post, another possible reason for exception under Equality Act is by age, e.g. only over 18's can sell Alcohol, so it is a legitimate reason to discriminate by age.
Wanted a job, now have one.

They do require all checkout operators to be over 18 due to that reason. But that wouldn't apply to me, i'm 29.

On Sunday, after checking the job centre site, I noticed that ASDA were hiring for the new store opening in our village so i applied. After going through the form and doing those ridiculous 'do you agree or disagree with these statement' type tests, as well as a numerical test of which I completed quickly and correctly, I get an email today saying i have not been successful.

This despite the fact that I've worked on checkouts before for Morrisons while i was in college (this position was for checkouts). This they could see from my previous work experience on the form.

Clearly previous experience counts for sod all! The fact that they give me no reason whatsoever for rejecting my application makes it even worse and the fact that I can't even get a job that I've done before, and done well, just makes me rage. I'm sat here in disbelief and in all honesty on the verge of tears. I'm so fed up with not working!

How the hell is unemployment supposed to be tackled when companies are more than happy to reject someone who is perfectly capable of doing the job?!

I failed the Boots one once as there was a question words to the effect 'I will do whatever my manager tells me' and I ticked disagree but never got the chance to explain my answer.

I ticked that as I have worked with a boss who comitted fraud in the company I worked for by getting people to move money around so she could create journals and transfer money to herself so that's why I said I wouldn't do whatever someone told me to do (without questioning it).

There is never a right or wrong as someone told me once certain companies look for the right person to fit them.

I did one also for Primark where it asked what you would do if a customer came up to you and asked for a an item in a different size.

I am sure Primark want you to sell another item to the customer and just get their £ but I have not been taught that way as my first job from school in '88 was to work for the House of Fraser group where we were taught to get the item for the customer buy calling the buying office to see if more were due in stock then call all the other HofF shops in London and surrounding areas to see if they had it and could hold for the customer or get the item transfered in.

See this is not the wrong answer but it may be for Primark so I guess that's where I slipped up

Would make sense, would prevent multiple entries from the same person but a bit unfair if theres more than 1 person in a house and all want to apply for various jobs at asda.

If it goes by IP just restart your router and use a new email address, restarting the router will give you a new IP

But yes I have saw this problem before, When Tesco's came to town me and my Mrs both applied, She's done checkout in Iceland for 20 years or so, Me I've never worked in a supermarket in my life, I passed she failed.
