It was an honest mistake. From what I can gather the OP mentioned more than once that the product was used in the listing and there was just one mention of the word "new" that got muddled up with a description.

Personally, if I saw the OP's listing I would at least send a message to ask whether the perfume was new or used. But then again maybe the listing was close to ending.

Regardless, that doesn't give the buyer the right to be unreasonable and downright rude. If there is a problem with the item, so be it. The buyer has a right to be miffed and even angry if the seller refuses to do anything about it, but the OP was perfectly happy to offer a full refund (including the return postage, if it was sent properly!).

OP, if the buyer can't provide a return tracking number then the case won't bode well for her. It may be a case of eBay refunds her the money themselves and you won't have to. I seriously doubt that she has actually sent it via courier and is just being particularly difficult in order to get some extra money from you.

Don't worry about it, try not to look at her comments on the case as from what I've gathered, it's mostly insults at your expense (although I would keep an eye on the case as you may need to provide more information). Keep the messages you receive from her as you can hand them over to eBay as well. As long as you have been honest and polite in your account of the case then eBay should be able to sort the rest out for you.

    Good luck. :)

Thankyou for understanding that all i made was a mistake, according to the majority of posters on this thread it was as if i intentionally lied to her and scammed her. It was just a typo and i immediatly apologised once i realised it was a mistake.

I have still yet to recieve the perfume. I dont think she sent it. she claims ive pretended to hide the fact that ive received it, i said check your courier service, but she hasnt replied to that.

    Thanks once again x

If she really did pay £35 to courrier it, the least she shoud expect for that is tracking information.
  • OP - Hope all gets sorted in the end. Somehow I doubt the buyer has sent it back to you.

However, you really do need to proof read your listings before submitting them, or even better, get someone else to proof read them. It will save all this sort of thing in the future.

I'm wondering if there were any other errors in the listing that you haven't mentioned or are not aware of. I only say this because the fact that the title of this post is "I need help with an unreasonable seller" when in fact you mean "buyer", illustrates that you must slow down and be more careful about what you type.

Time spent checking now, can save so much time wasted in the future.

Thanks so much for your support on this matter, from what ive read on the replies, ive seem to be stuck on the negative end of the stick with everyone saying, its your problem deal with it. i know i made a mistake, and i admitted that from the beginning with the buyer, i first did email saying it was in the description and then five minutes later after i had checked, i sent her an email straight back saying im sorry, im at fault, please send it back. what else was i meant to do?

The packaged STILL has not arrived, ive asked her again, has she sent the package because ive not received it. Her reply was something along the lines that ive got the perfume but claiming i havent got it. i said if you will check with the courier service you used it will tell you if it has or hasnt been delivered. but she hasnt said anything about that either. so i agree with you that she hasnt sent it, even im thinking its too late.

I dont understand everyones problem with me saying i was at the wake, it wasnt an excuse, i shouldnt have said anything.

Thanks once again for your support x

    Thats okay Yazmin_A :)

I know what its like to have annoying buyers, hence why im no longer a seller on eBay. I also know how horrible forums can be as i used to be a member of several forums like this.

Like the guy above said and i said before in the previous posts, make sure you proof read all your listings and explain everything again properley, leave no room for error.

Im now 110% sure she hasnt sent the package and you have yourself a buyer who saw an oppurtunity in your listing description for a way to scam a seller.

The fact that the buyer was erratic from day 1 and was still continuously abusing the situation makes me think that they are trying to force you into a refund, but hang in there, when eBay notices no tracking number, they will close the case.

What pay happen now is the buyer will open a case with her bank as you said she said she would do. Because you will not be refunding the transaction back to her due to no item being sent to you, and will claim the transaction to be fraudulent, Paypal will take the money out of your account and it will turn into a negative amount, if you wish to use your Paypal to make purchases online, then you need to transfer the same amount of money that is contested in the transaction into your account.

This will 'balance' the account. You will need to give the tracking information for you sending the item out to her to prove that she ordered the item. This is proved by the fact that a transaction cannot be deemed fraudulent if the item is being sent to the same address as the bank account or method of payment is registered to (unless someone in the same household is using someone else's finances secretely)

If you have already uploaded tracking number to eBay, then don't worry, it will take a couple of weeks for it to sort itself out, but you should see the money come back.

Most likely due to the fact that the amount in dispute is such a small amount of money, the buyer will get their money back via there bank. But as long as you havent lost any money, im sure theres nothing to worry about.

    Good Luck OP
    "Shes a witch!"
    "How do you know?"
    "Cos she looks like one!!"

Just to clarify, a seller has full paypal protection against any form of bank chargeback of 'fraud' claim as long as they have proof of posting
