It's no one's place to question how individuals choose to use their money. If buyer is willing to be further out of pocket temporarily in order to get the refund faster, why shouldn't she?

Also, "owning your mistakes" is also known as taking responsibility for your own actions. Seller made a massive !!!!up, seller is now being made to pay, seller should accept that it's their own fault and accept the consequences, which in this case involves making this right with their victim with a refund for the item and P&P.

For you to claim that the buyer is a 'victim' is simply ludicrous.

A victim is someone who is either tricked, swindled or duped. None of these terms apply to this situation.

The seller made a simple honest mistake and now she needs to rectify it.

What's stupid about expecting competence? Being the victim of a "typing error" has resulted in this poor buyer being out of pocket for as long as a refund will take.

It's not just about the money though - returning it via RM, buyer then has to re-package the product and make the trip to the post office, costing time and inconvenience. I call that being a victim - the buyer very likely has other !!!! going on, and even if she doesn't, it's still a massive inconvenience and irritance. She has every right to use a courier to minimise the inconvenience and expedite the process!

@ post above this; the buyer was lied to, deliberately or not. I call that being a victim. You are assigning connotations that are not there. One can be a victim of an accident, for example.

    One word...nonsense

LMAO. You must be the buyer. You seem so sympathetic to the deranged woman, that im convinced you are the buyer.

Its a typing error darling, It was a mix - up mistake. Everone apart from the OP is perfect yes? no one else makes mistakes. Such Gobble-Dee-Gook

Thats the buyers job now to send it back to the OP. The OP isnt required to reimburse her for the postage, some do as a gesture of good faith, but from day one this ebay buyer seems to have a rod up her bottom so even if she did refund the postage cost if it was reasonable i can guarentee the negative feedback. The buyer agreed to said terms and conditions about posting returns back when they joined ebay, so legally, the seller doesnt have do anything now apart from refund the original P&P and cost of item.

So thats the end of that.
    "Shes a witch!"
    "How do you know?"
    "Cos she looks like one!!"

I'm not a troll (or a him, @ other poster). I'm someone with a very low threshold for !!!!!!!!. I recognize that I tend to have unpopular opinions, but unpopular is not the same as lying for the sake of "winding up".

The last resort of the moron - can't get someone to agree with you, assume troll.
    You are a troll.

I also think some of you guys are being over dramatic about the buyer. "Deranged Woman" Really? What if this woman had bought this as a gift for someone, then realised it was a used bottle of perfume, despite the description of it being new.

Put yourself in her shoes. She buys an item that is used, but was listed as new, then contacts the seller and gets the message that they are at a wake and can't sort it out immediately. What would you think at this point? OP does seem a little prone to over dramatising herself.

So if she had purchased this as a gift and now not only has the hassle of having to return the item, but also has to find an alternative etc, it would be very frustrating.

The courier thing is ridiculous and no way should OP be expected to pay for that, but I think the OP should have been more understanding with her 'customer' as it was her fault.

It is a fairly simple solution, but I think that the bias in this thread has gone too far both ways.

    You sir, are complete !!!!!!!.

She had the money to buy a perfume, if the seller had listed correctly she wouldn't have had the money in her account anyway, and if shes so !!!!!!!g god damn poor, why resort to a courier service to send a product out, it cost the witch 40 Quid to send out, before she even tried to claim said expenses, she could have used Jolly Old Reliable Royal Mail, even next day by 1pm doesnt cost 40 Quid, unless you live in Austrailia.

People like you shouldnt be allowed to even post on such forums.

Please ignore SevenCL , he is on other threads being equally objectionable.

He/she won't be around for long, most genuine posters are reporting him/her. Put them on your ignore list.
