Yes, exactly the same.
I should admit that I had mine done by an ACER service centre whilst travelling. Only cost me a fiver for the fitting.

Yes I'll have a go at doing it. I've added RAM to laptops before. This ones rather tricky as it needs gutting before you get to the RAM, but nevertheless I think I can do it. The trickiest bit is always the ribbon cables.
