TESCO complaint

I contacted tesco cs after finding a used plaster in a packet of their own brand crisps. I had to tke the offending packet and plaster into their store for them to send to suppliers for testing and today have received a letter which states:
"I'm sorry to learn you found a plaster in you tesco curly fries. i can understand how concerning this must have been for you.
There are strict procedures in place to ensure nothing gets into our products which shouldn't be there. However, it appears these precautions haven't been sufficient on this occasion and I'll pass the details of this matter to our supplier for their attention. i can assure you every effort will be made to avoid this happening again.
In the meantime I've enclosed a 10.00 moneycard for you to use with my best wishes. It's yours to send as you please"
I do not feel that they have actually answered my complaint in particular the possible health implications of finding a used plaster in my crisps! should I reject the 10.00 moneycard and request a further explanation as i feel 10.00 is not sufficient compensation. Any advice on how to respond back to them....(not v good at complaining!!)

Did you eat any of the crisps ?
If no then you will be fine.
Was the horror of seeing a plaster ?
You informed them of the offending article and they have replied saying strict measures are in place but on this occaison these meausres weren't enough.
I think £10 is perfectly fine, your up by £10 so you win.
Compensation for what exactly ?
Only thing i can think of is use of time and petrol but the £10 would cover this would it not.
Btw your complaint was fine and im not being harsh but honest.0 -
yes I had eaten most of the packet before I discovered them
Only loss really was time...(and the petrol to return the item) I was told instore that the suppliers would be contacting with an explanation and this hasn't been done.
Also the assistant at cs instore advised me not to accept first offer made by customer services manager!!
I definitely wont be shopping there anymore!!0 -
Oh come on, your final comment is just ridiculous! Tesco sell tens of thousands of different lines from thousands of different producers and manufacturers in thousands of different factories, farms and manufacturing plants, the vast majority of which (including their own brand stuff) comes from the same sources that supply most of the other supermarkets and convenience stores.

So if you rejected the £10 from tesco what would you ask for ?0 -
I'm not in the habit of complaining so just wanted a bit of advice! I'll stick with the giftcard they have sent and drop them an email to say received!
I just wanted a bit more of an apology from them!0 -
What more can they do? someone's plaster dropped in the crisps, can happen anywhere, so what more can they do, say really sorry, speak to all the staff reminding the producers who they buy from not too lose plasters, basically the question is........HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT ?0

This one could run and run. The last one did.
