That's jumping the gun.
Two issues, fuel isn't 50% of the journey? Agreed? And;
sharing costs 50/50 is impossible, you cannot dissect friendship this way cybernauts.
What do i get off on? maybe having a few trusted friends that don't react like you guys.
still at least it's been relatively polite in mse motoring terms, no one's hit the swear filter yet.
I appreciate(ish) your views, have them, but don't try to outlaw mine, they are simply my and your views, pass the weed bro
wrong time of the month for you is it?0 -

Still absolutely no idea why you're making that assumption.cyclonebri1 wrote: »Two issues, fuel isn't 50% of the journey? agreed?
Do you mean that there are more costs to driving a car 400 miles than the fuel? If so then, yes of course everyone agrees, but everyone except you doesn't see the relevance of that fact to a question that was explicitly and solely about splitting the fuel costs.cyclonebri1 wrote: »Sharing costs 50/50 is impossible, you cannot dissect friendship this way cybernauts.
It is perfectly possible share the fuel costs 50/50, which is what the OP asked about. Lots of people have told the OP how to do it - start with a full tank, end with a full tank, and the friend pays half the cost of all the fill-ups in between. Easy.
It ignores the other costs and it may not be the way you and your mates share the cost of a journey. But what's any of that got to do with the OP's question? Nothing.cyclonebri1 wrote: »I appreciate(ish) your views, have them, but don't try to outlaw mine, they are simply my and your views, pass the weed bro
That seems an odd thing to say. The entire basis of your contribution to this thread seems to be your objection to the OP's view - that he and his friend are happy to share fuel costs. Why are trying to outlaw the OP's views, in direct violation of your own advice here?0 -

Go back to the 1st post, which to be honest is all I intended to comment on. What did the op ask?
And then consider the fact that after all your collective reactions, I might just enjoy a complete wind up Mr Zebedee?
But no. I was serious.
If I'd posted the question it really would have been along the lines of;
"What price friendship?"
You guys go figure, we obviously aren't on the same wavelength, but don't bother to thank me for enlightening you, my work here is done.
This is toooooooooooooooooooooooo easy:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
OMG, seriously??
He doesn't know how much to charge him, presumably because he's not 100% sure how much the whole trip is gonna cost??
Holy !!!!... talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill!!!
The guy just wants to know how much he should charge his mate for a 400 mile trip. Their friendship isn't in question here. At all.
Just answer the question, or don't post at all.0 -

Funny. I was going to suggest you go back to the first post
. The OP asked how to work out what half the fuel cost of a journey came to.
God knows what you thought he asked. Your first post - apparently the only one you intended to write, before you were presumably overcome by this severe bout of makeafoolofmyselfitis and couldn't stop the drivel pouring out - wasn't anything to do with answering the OP's actual question.0 -

Everyone disagrees with you because you are wrong. Yet somehow you think you have us all on the wind up. Keep taking the tablets.0 -

Don't get what? That you can't come to terms with the fact that there might be people out there happy to split the cost of a car journey on a different basis to that which you and your friends use? No, I don't get that at all. I can't comprehend how something like that can bother you in the slightest, let alone bother you so much that you felt the need to write what you did in your astonishing and irrelevant first comment in this thread.0 -

Maybe he don't do 50/50 and expects his mates to pay. I think he's a bit of a Jim Royal.0
