Fill up before you go, refill when you get there. If he pays that bill, and you pay one on way home for simplicities sake. (make sure you stick to 55mph on way back, thrape it on way there

Amount spent on fuel divided by two?0

If you need some cash in advance, run the route through Googlemaps and it'll give you a rough fuel estimate

You are in a serious risk situation of a friend soon becoming an exfriend.
Sorry, can't put it more correctly than that.
I thought you were getting into the situation of regular transport to work, or similar. But no.
If you were friends the other guy would offer £20 and you would either accept or decline out of friendship.
You are trying to make a buisness deal out of this.
He needs a new friend.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Do like jaydeeuk1 says; you know it makes sense.0 -
Cyclonebri...no he isn't, they're both going on a road trip and are sharing costs.
A group of us regularly go away and do this...there is no issue! o_O

The easiest way is to fill the tank (you pay) then when you get their fill it up again and he pays, then he has paid for the way there.0

200 miles is'nt a road trip, it's a journey a couple of friends might take together over 1 day.
If the op is concerned about sharing the costs of this short journey, he has a problem. Sorry, but mates do this by taking turns in absorbing the fuel costs, If this is a one off, they ain't mates if he feels the need to be preciseous exactus.
The op brought friends/mates into the equation, he simply doesn't know the meaning of the word, or he wouldn't ask.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
