Which is why I asked why she didn't have insurance. The answer to which could lead onto other potential sources of help.0 -

This is a terrible attitude as they may end up on benefits themselves one day or their kids or partner.
As well as the PDSA there is a vets near me, that does all an animals injections for £10.00 for those on benefits when its usually a £100 or something. You might have something like this in your area O.P.
Also Im on benefits and I make sure that I get my 2 their boosters every year £40.00 each because this keeps them well I think. Also I get their flea treatments and worming tablets off the internet as its much cheaper than the vets.
To be completely fair, I feel it's fair game for someone to comment on a poster who apparently can't afford such a small vet bill, but can afford to try and get £4000 for cosmetic surgery.0 -

Who can afford to try and get £4000 for cosmetic surgery? I certainly can't.. although I wish I could. I guess you have been looking at my previous posts.. to which I said I would LIKE that amount but tough on me because it's never going to happen.
How do you know the size of the vet bill when I don't yet.0 -

You've estimated that it will be £70. What was your reason for choosing to not purchase insurance cover?
While you're at it, why don't you share what kind of pet you have, so people don't have to guess.0 -
I've no way of knowing where you live- unless I am just having a blank moment!
Blue Cross treats animals of people receiving certain benefits but you would need to be living in London- 3 animal hospitals & a mobile clinic, or Grimsby area.(or Dublin! again a mobile clinic.)
Some private vets used to work under a PDSA scheme where people on certain benefits and with a particular postcode qualified. I don't know if this is still inoperation.
As it isn't a dog, maybe a cat? In which case Cats Protection league may be able to help out.
I just want to point out that not everyone has pet insurance. As with all insurance it can be a rip off. Personally I hope I can afford all eventualities and if I can't then perhaps the treatment involved is far too invasive. And before anyone disagrees with me I want to say I have 3rd party insurance with my Dogs Trust supporter membershipBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I do so regularly with those with low post counts to suss out if they are trolling or to get more information about their situation. MSE has the facility for searching for an individual's posts with a couple of clicks, what is wrong with make use of it?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

That sounds really creepy to me.
Still, whatever floats your boat I suppose and if you've nothing better to do

Kinda applies to anyone posting on any forum, if you think about it.0
