I have just spoken to SP and they advise they are bringing out a new On line Engery package 3. If you go on to this one you your gas is 20 percent cheaper and Electricity is the same as with 2. The criteria is you have to pay by DD on a monthly basis. Also if you want to provide them with meter readings every month is is not a problem.

You can switch now to this tariff via the switching sites.

It comes into effect on 5/4/07 - but your switch won't be completed by then, so you will be on that tariff from the date your switch is completed.

You can also request to be switched to the Tariff if you are an existing customer by simply emailing them through the contact pages of the secure web site. New Tariff will be applied on 5/4/07.
  • I'm already a SP customer and I rang them to change onto this tarriff ( I was on online energy standard) and they told me that it was only available to new customers only! They said they'd change me to online energy saver 2 but I said that Powergen worked out cheaper and I would change to them. They then suddenly changed their mind about the whole 'only available to new customers' and have put me down to change me onto the saver 3 tarriff when it starts!

I had my bill with new prices Monday ( was capped un til Dec 06) and my S/O is being increased from £83 pm to £190pm.

I sent them an e-mail asking for a new tarriff.

Someone rang me Tuesday offered to cap those prices until 2008, I said no I want cheaper prices or I move, she said someone would phone the next day.

Lady rang yesterday evening and she put me on the new online 3 package. I can still change if I am not happy and said I will wait until the first quarter's bill.

I have now nagged the children to make sure they turn off all their appliances & lights.

I am also on online energy standard. She advised me to take a capped tariffs. Do you think you are better off with the online saver 3? A bit confused with all the tariffs, I have been trying to change services to online saver 3, and I cannot see it in the option menu. Thanks

As it is not available till 5/4/07 it isn't yet shown on the website.

You can ring in and ask them to put you on the tariff when it becomes available.

    Ask for the on-line department.

Just checked their website and it says effective from 14th March 2007. Which one is correct? Thanks

sp was sneaky with me. They quietly put me on saver 2, saying that the old saver had closed and that this would be the next cheapest. I rang back after reading this thread and am now on the list to be changed to saver 3. Thank you all
