well, I feelso much better now I know this-not.
Financial Mail can reveal that EE also pays no corporation tax in this country. And investigations show that more and more of the biggest private equity-owned companies are avoiding billions of pounds in tax as a result of complex debt arrangements.

Martin Lewis @MartinSLewis · @Jellybeanmug I am. I tweeted about just this
today.
I cant help think he is missing the point. He is looking for proof they offered "broadband for life". The problem for most of us is not that we knew believed or even knew it was for life. The problem is that we were told verbally that it would continue with our current mobile contracts. If when we had asked they had said "no, your free broadband's life ends with your current contract" then we would mostly have been fine with it and said fair enough and signed up for cheaper mobile deals, perhaps with other companies.
They clearly never properly trained their staff on the free broadband so they repeatedly gave the wrong information and we took non existent deals in good faith that orange now refuse to honor or sort out.
What needs to be sorted out is for orange to acknowledge there was a systemic failure in their sales and deal with it. Cheap shots about "for life" are really neither here nor there.
I'm afraid I have never worked out how to tweet.0 -
yes, I agree the free for life deal is neither here nor there anymore as Orange renewed the deal when we re-signed new contracts year on year but I think its a BIG "tool" for those like Martin who may be thinking of putting their head above the parapet in the media,so I will cut him some slack,if he can help then whatever ammunition he needs we should all help him with as the time slot for big press exposure is going to run out after EE launch their 4G brand offensive tomorrow, after that the Press won't care one way or another!I cant help think he is missing the point. Ive told you ALL contact the MP & Minister that are Ofcom's boss and part funder, if YOU dont inform them of practices Orange & Ofcom are doing... Orange are flouting UK legislation with Ofcom approval THAT IS IN ITS REMIT with regards to Orange's telecom licence because Ofcom says "it comes under non-direct Ofcom COMMUNICATIONS legislation", its still a breach of any UK legislation and the regulator should be holding Orange to account or revoking its telecom licence.
Feed it from the TOP LEVEL & watch Ofcom & Orange crumble under the weight of you voters & consumers from its HEAD of the telecommunications structure at government level.
Orange's actions & shockingly with Ofcom approval is pi$$ing over you all & your legal rights. RE-ADDRESS the balance for now & the future....
http://www.culture.gov.uk/about_us/our_ministers/7050.aspx Minister for Communications.
& his boss, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and Minister for Women and Equalities:
http://www.culture.gov.uk/about_us/our_ministers/9316.aspx
If you can all type it on MSE you can type it in a official complaint against Ofcom practices in controlling it's telecom licencee's. YOU just have to be PROACTIVE & tell those at the top above Orange & Ofcom aswell as other MSE users.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Whilst I agree wholeheartedly media coverage is necessary - Watchdog are on the case.
It would be good for Martin or an investigative journalist to take it up, but without thorough investigation - they could leave themselves open to litigation for Liable or Slander if when taking it forward if they are inaccurate in their reporting.
Fools rush in.
Going forward and more importantly people need to address their own issues with Orange and seek resolution as a priority.
Additionally initiating a complaint against Ofcom and Orange through the media, Minister of Communications & Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport as suggested by diamonds.
As we have seen Orange are now beginning to disconnect peoples BB which will and is causing disruption to their lives.0 -

Hi, sorry but I do not understandyour post ?
Nobby
Hi Nobby
After receiving our BB disconnection letters from Orange and fruitless phone calls to Orange CS and our attempt to email Orange CS having failed because email address no longer valid.
We contacted Ofcom and registered our complaints who informed us to contact Orange Executive Office quoting Ofcom refnumber which we did and received our Executive Office ref number back in Sep 24th.
We haven’t heard anything since and we have passed our BB cut-off date already hence the latest email to Executive Office looking for an update and hopefully confirmation that our BB service will continue till end of our mobile contracts.
I know the above fiasco has back fired on Orange and rightly so as it was a stupid and amateurish idea to impose and think they could get away with it after all we don’t live in Russia or China and there are consumer laws and courts that protect customers in this country!!
But to be fair that apart from two technical problems I have had with my BB connection and their poor first line technical support service in India resulting in having to wait days and many phone calls later for the special technical team in the UK to resolve I haven't had any other problems with Orange Mobile or BB since 2004.

Hi,
In your situation I would just call the `special` team now , if I understand you correctly & your main worry is to get your bb confirmed to end of current mobile contract, then stress the `mis-selling` aspect - you only renewed your mobile on the strength of being offered free bb til end of mobile contract / for life.
The email address fiasco is just another Orange joke, they seem to be able to send emails from the .orange.co.uk domain & even stress in emails to respond to that address but it has not worked for me for many weeks now - .everythingeverywhere.com is the working one ( until they change it - .ee.com presumably is next ).
Good luck - just nag them on the phone - don`t wait for a call back.

"Ofcom are engaged in discussions with Orange to fully understand the situation.".

" Orange says customers who want to cancel their BROADBAND contract, because of the changes, can do so without charge".
Thanks a bunch Orange
