Orange 'Free' Broadband

Eva - your wish to have your agreement in writing, does not make it invalid.
Did you say you only agree to full and final settlement of your claim, on condition, the agreement is received in writing from Orange ?
What is a legal action to seek written confirmation ?
I believe during the conversation I was told it would be in writing, that being said, so much was said and I was asked if I would drop legal proceedings, to which I agreed.
I did receive a generic letter stating if I left before my contract was completed I would be liable for the full contract.
Because of this I am very keen to get the agreement documented, to ensure that nothing comes back to bite me sometime in the future.
IE: An outstanding huge payment owed to Orange! and my credit file wrecked
So, my legal action, would see me employing a solicitor to force this documented resolution and obviously a claim for his costs.0 -
Some people mentioning the differences in compensation.
The highlander team/08002944747/outsourced Glasgow call centre can ONLY offer up to £28 in compensation. It doesn't matter how many tantrums people throw, it's not something they can change (only saying this because of a few people today were going nuts because they thought we were holding back when saying £28). The £100 is from some other department (possibly the exec office?).
A certain post that happened earlier today I am almost certain was a call taken very near me as the exact scenario happened the way the MSE member described so gratz!0 -
The exec office can email you.
I suspect the `special` team cannot as the email domain name would show that they are not Orange but the `third party` company ( sorry cannot remember the company name but it has been mentioned here somewhere ).
Nobby.
I suspect you are correct! Odd that one person got a text from them though????????
mrmss = Received a text and called 0800 2944747 today.0 -
My broadband is still going!!!! I am sure I should be cut off by now0

Hi diamonds,
Do you ever sleep ?:)
Yes I can confirm that Angela J. is the manager of the exec office - it was she who I ended up dealing with to `resolve` my in-contract price hike issues with earlier this year. She did not seem keen to get involved in this issue though ! stopped responding to my emails very early on !
Nobby.
Angela is a bra lass, I'd gather she was instructed too Nobby, not that that comes as a surprise to any of us lol !!SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
I understand your concerns. You should speak to the Executive Office to seek confirmation of your agreement and when it will be sent to you in writing. However, it may not come!
You could write your own letter to the named person, confirming your position. That is having reached agreement to leave penalty free, you are not liable for anything further from Orange.
Sent x 3 requests now! 2 x to exec 1 x to named person x 3 phone calls!
I did not however say full and final settlement - not that I want anything further other than confirmation in writing.
Not long now to 5th November which is the due billing date.
Maybe something will be forthcoming then when the account is balanced as we pay in advance.0 -

Hi
My partner and I have each received a letter from Orange informing us that the free broadband component of both our 2 year mobile contracts is coming to an end on 28th October 2012. However, we could retain thefree broadband component if and only when we switch our land lines to Orange!
Has Orange considered the scenario where the landline is not registered in the name of the mobile owner and can’t be switched over to Orange due to lack of permission? What option your customers would have then?
As long term customers of Orange (since 2004) we are both rather disappointed and not happy with this decision. The free broadband component was a deciding factor in our decision to renew both our mobile contracts with Orange otherwise we would have opted for cheaper monthly plans or moved to another mobile provider.
As far as we are concerned Orange should honour providing all the components of the mobile contract for the duration of the 2 year term. A professional and sensible approach would have been to introduce changes at the end of the contract rather mid-way!
Therefore, we hope you’ll review your decision in both of our cases and delay terminating our free broadband component till the end of our contracts. Otherwise it is a case of Orange miss-selling us mobile contracts with FREE broadband.
We have both contacted Orange over the phone and the staff we spoke to just relayed the company decision and trying to justify it one way or another and referring to T&Cs we are supposed to have signed at the time of renewal.
We have requested Orange over the phone to post us a copy of the terms and conditions that we have signed on paper where it gives Orange the power to cancel a main component of the mobile contract while requiring us to continue the same level of monthly payment?
We look forward to your reply. Please note a copy of this complaint will be forwarded to Ofcom.

Good Luck to allApologies for the length!
[FONT="]Orange retained their Mobile Contract Customers by offering ‘Free BB for Life’ as an inducement to renew their Mobile Contract for a minimum term, and most of us relied upon that representation that Orange would not remove this incentive, certainly, it was not foreseeable at the time of renewal this would be to our detriment some time into a new contract.
Customers are now under duress to accept the current offer which is a substantial variation in terms, and has to be acceptable…
