Thanks DustyKitten and Valli. Had a go at my taps with vinegar - mainly because I haven't many lemons left and they cost more than vinegar! I now have less limescale visible than before - thank you. Am going to have another go on Bathroom day.
LW - I love the idea of saving the vinegar from pickled onions - very MSEAlso a great excuse to eat more pickled onions!
Just tidied out another freezer basket. See there's a thread on OS asking for suggestions on what to do with pork mince which someone else has found in their freezer - very timely as I've just found some in mine.
Off to have a quick tidy round then I might start a new little cross stitch.Work is not my Hobby0 -

LW - loved your description of our hard water lol
I went food shopping this morning and I've started on the Garden Tidy Up operation, I've done about 10% of the garden and filled the green bin and thats taken me ages to do, I'm chopping conifers down and cutting back council bushes that they aren't bothering to do but are now creeping to the 10ft mark and starting to shade my garden!!
Kids are complaining about the lack of food so I suppose I'd better think about feeding them before they waste away lol

I managed to coerce Mr LW into helping me chop back some tatty hypericum bushes; he also mowed the grass yesterday, so the green wheelie (for garden refuse) is full to bursting now.
Next job is take Ted outside for a bit of exercise in the back garden; then the onion/milk mix I've done for the start of a nut loaf will be cool enough to add the eggs and other ingredients (can't add them til it's cool, or the eggs would just scramble) and I can get that baked, ready for slicing and freezing tomorrow.
Dins has already been eaten - we had veggie toad-in-the-hole.;)
Then need to get Mr LW to do his Wii Ft before 19:00, as he wants me to tape Sinbad for him.
Ooh, I'm so organised, I scare myself!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Tesco bought.. excessive amounts of coffee bought as it was half price. and wash powder remembered.. We got some new books for the tiddlies and a moshi monsters annual to put away for christmas and a mountain of fruit and veg as I need to restocks Dots food supply in the freezer. Oh.. and 5 packs of dishwasher tablets which were half price!
Lasagne built for dinner and chucked in oven.. nom! Pork steaks for tomorrow and a huge pack of cumberland sausage and 2 huge lots of casserole steak reduced
Off to load DW and bring washing in and get it folded. Best find Dot dessert... she has developed quite an appetite of late! Afternoon ladies
Didnt get back inyesterday by the time DH and I got back from Mr T several pounds lighter but used 2 big money off coupons and got 2 5p per litre off fuel so worth the effort.
Feel like my holiday is passing me by without me actually achieving anything. Seems so hard with DH here all the time, bit weird really as he is usually doing overtime and he's been home since May now .
Its surprising the little things that can make you happy. Today for me it was going to BnQ and finding a single socket 8 metre extension lead which means I can plug in and vacuum the whole house without unplugging it, which for some reason annoys the h3ll out of me. So majority of house has been done. Exceptions being kids rooms who can do their own and ours which I am in the middle of a declutter so only the cleared half has been done.
Had a catch up of fred too.
Mrs_B - Have a hug
Betty C - I think your plan looks good and achievable which is the key to success
Valli - At least you have achieved something with your decorating, Ive been off 9 days so far and achieved nothing
Pigpen - it seems sensible to have a brown carpet, the muck doesnt show up! And is that the sister that left you out of the party, if so youre a saint
Hex - I'm sure its not that bad, we've seen a few pics on here, remember!
Piggers - re the smells, I found a mushroom growing on the outside of my shower the other morning I was horrified, especially as it appeared overnight and was an inch across and nearly 2 inches tall  Didnt smell though
Lamewolf - that sounds like our water too. I'm having a battle with our steam generator at the mo. It has an antiscale thing that you have to empty when the light goes on which I do before it gets that bad, but its currently spitting and hissing and chucking out all sorts of mucky carp, usually over uniforms
Valli - WTG to your lad for having his sort out
Right I am going to go and start dinner in a min, thats another weird thing today as I usually put my foot down and insists on a roast joint of some sort but we're trying to eat out of the freezers so its 2 packs of lamb chops instead. And will open a bottle of pink bubbly that has been chilling for about 3 days to have in our anniversary glasses. Wish it was as hot as where we were 3 years ago today!
Looking forward to being with you this week again hopefully
Enjoy your evening

I rhought long and hard about that carpet.. it was definitely a sensible decision!
And yes.. the same sister.. I am not a saint.. she is my sister and if she needs me she knows where I am and I am glad she knows it. Good job I don't hold grudges
I have no idea what the smell is.. I'll go have a sniff later my nose usually finds smells...

I've been picking away at the gibble in my office, and now have only three sorted boxes left to rehome. I even know where they are going, but I'll have to dig all the ironing out of the bottom drawer in order to fit the boxed stuff in.
I may be some time ....Better is good enough.0
