  • this company is horrendous, they should not be allowed to credit report they are that slow at corrections and looking into problems with peoples credit scores.

all you get off the eon reps on here is sorry this and sorry that and raise a complaint here then raise another one so they can reveiw it if not happy,
then if eon dont agree with your complaint after months of messing around you can go to the ombudsman, after they screw your credit record up on a whim.

even when they have discovered errors they tell you it takes weeks to ammend on top. disgusting service and bad customer care.

it helps keep the bills low eon reps say, yet eon bills were the highest i ever had thats why i left, with your dodgy age concern tariffs that were nothing more than overpriced garbage, which i believe you were picked up on, eon had me on this tariff for two years , my dual fuel bills dropped by 80 pounds per month when i moved supplier.

these bunch of clowns are just so so wrong . do not use this company they are awful

No energy, water of phone company should be allowed to report your account to the credit reference agencies. The service you get can only be very loosely described as credit, if at all.

They are all past masters at trashing people's credit record.

Here's a thing: if you pay by DD you can be, more often than not, the creditor rather than the debtor. I bet the sneaky companies still report your account on a monthly basis though.

Hello isthatallitis and thank you for your feedback.

We share information with Equifax each month. When we do, we give a true reflection of the status of an account at the time of the share. If there's a balance at the time of the share, this will be the information we give. We'll continue to share this as long as there's an outstanding balance. Customers have 44 days to pay bills before information is shared.

As well as sharing details of accounts in debt, we also give positive reports where accounts are paid promptly. This helps build up credit scores.

All shares are done in line with the T&Cs customers accept as part of their agreement with us for their energy supplies. Sharing also helps us assess credit risk more accurately so we can keep debt to a minimum.

We've been sharing information with Credit Reference Agencies for a number of years and, as with anything, sometimes it goes wrong. Where mistakes are discovered, there are arrangements in place to put things right including amending the details with Equifax.

Our relationship with Age UK ended on 31 March 2018. During the years this relationship ran, we had a number of alternative tariffs available. Industry rules mean we're not allowed to put customers on contracted products - like Age UK tariffs or many of the alternatives - without their permission.

We encourage customers to make sure they're on the right product for them by regularly checking out our website and the Price Comparison sites. Exit fees didn't apply to any of our Age UK products leaving customers free to change tariff/supplier without penalty at any time.

    Thanks again isthatallitis.

hi malc, i do understand that you keep piping up the same old rubbish day in day out, but you are put on these boards as a paid employee of eon to attempt to clean up the many messes that eon create.
if eon were so pure there would be no need to employ two people to attempt to cover up these messes on this forum , and as i said before you bleat on about eons complaints proceedures and time scales but eon does not follow them , and that is factual from my case alone.

eons reports to equifax are not as accurate as you say especially when the account is under dispute and the updating of the credit reports is outrageous, when you consider that these clowns can screw up peoples credit records and  lives on a whim and take months to even look at the disputes raised by customers, if at all.
i can point you too cases on here where wrongful credit reports have caused personal damage and eon still do not ammend with out constant pressure from the customer, then it can take months.

these reports are computer generated by box ticking telephonists who are so limited in the choices they have, as an example my account was settled 6 plus weeks ago but my credit record does not reflect this and i am still getting calls and letters from debt collectors despite no money owing , eons wheels grind very slowly im afraid when it suits them.
so as for your harping on about the credit reports being accurate picture of the account at the time, its absolute rubbish and eon use it as nothing more than a debt collecting tool with no thought as to its consequencies .

as for the age uk farce ,
"The Charity Commission's criticism follows media reports in February that Age UK "received £6 million a year from energy supplier E.on to promote" a fixed two-year energy tariff that "was more expensive than other tariffs available".
i was recommended this tariff by your advisers at the time as it was the best tariff for me, it turned out to be not the case when it all hit the news, but hey i authorised the tariff on eons recommendation so thats just fine...who makes this garbage up?
dont take this personal , you just get paid to say what they want you to say , but i will make it my point to keep on raising all the many  mistakes that eon have made with my accounts over the last 20 years until they finally sort it out

Hello isthatallitis and please don't worry. Helena and I don't take anything said on these Forums personally.
I do understand the frustration when things go wrong or don't go as you think they should and how this can come across on social platforms like MSE.
There are several reasons for our presence on Forums like this and others. As well as offering advice on individual issues, we're able to pick up particular insights in to what our customers are saying and how the things we do are generally going down. We regularly feed these views back to the people at E.ON responsible for decisions. This feedback goes to the highest levels and, over the years, has had a definite impact on the way we do things.
We aim to interact with as many of our customers as possible and these Forums are a great way of doing this. Sometimes we're able to add value by letting customers know about different services they can use. At other times we can clear up some of the misunderstandings and wrong information that crops up from time to time. Our posts reflect the circumstances at the time and will always be as accurate as possible even when we know it won't necessarily be what others want to hear.

As I say, we don't take posts personally so please continue to let us have your feedback. Both good and bad comments are useful in helping us better understand our customers. Thank you for your feedback isthatallitis.

Hi there I have a problem with eon as they have added a a.t.p on my credit file I have never heard of this before now. they added it as we set up a direct debit for our final bill after changing supplier been a customer for 8 years never missed a payment and I asked eon member of staff on the phone would this go on my credit file and they told me no I asked if there would be a trace.of it on my credit file they said no this was recorded I was.totally mis advised and therefore made the wrong decision because of not having the facts eon said that they wont remove this even though it was a member of staffs fault as it is accurate that it happend and ombusman have the same opinion surely if you have been misadvised this is not your fault as a customer and shouldn't be punished with this on my credit file for 6 years help after also speaking with the ico today I believe that there was a breach in my data protection as I asked the member of staff if the information would be shared and I was told no also on the ico document below it says that eon in my case have not followed the correct guidelines in giving this arrangement to pay (in bold )
Principles for the Reporting of Arrears, Arrangements
1.Section 3. If you offer or make a reduced payment, how it is reported will
depend on whether it is agreed with the lender.
In all instances you should be told whether and how the
information will be reported on your credit file
The ico also told me I have the Right to be informed under gpdr
And also They have not processed my information fairly lawfully and transparently witch should in my eyes then be removed because it was used unlawfully and didn't comply with the data protection act 2018
Number one principle the information also has to be shared fair hope someone can help cos it seems black and white to me but getting no luck eon seem to be able to ruin a customers credit file with no repercussions
