bloomingflower wrote: »Yes, I agree with you CharmCaster. Gemma, the OP only came on here to do just that. To ask a simple question, only to be scared away from posts like raphaelangelo's.
She last posted on this thread nearly 4 months ago!.
I wouldn't blame her if she didn't come back!
I have read the whole of this thread and I understand where she is coming from.
However, its a pity that other posters on here don't bother or even care to read all her posts so that they can get a better insight as to what her original question was all about!
They read one or two posts on the last page, miss out page 1,2 and 3 etc and think they can just jump in and give their two penneth for what it's worth and upset the OP in the process. Unbelievable.
I have just come over after reading another thread started by 4390evans. She is another poster in much need of help and advice but some posters have also done the same thing to her! Nevertheless, all credit to the ones who have offered her practical help. There are a hell of a lot of families struggling this time of year and if I lived near her I would do the same. Is this what Christmas should be all about? Helping one another? A tiny bit of empathy and compassion goes a long way and will mean a lot to someone in need of help.
Anyhow, we now live in a judgemental society and it's every man for himself these days.Very sad. x
I know exactly what you mean. I offered to send some of my baby's old clothes and some toys which are no longer used to that poster and, I can only think that I was 'reported' as my posts were deleted. An apparent violation of the website's conduct rules! However, you can bang away at making someone feel even worse than they already do til your heart's content and that's fine.
It's a funny old world we live in, frankly, there's more than one poster on these boards who I wouldn't like to run into in a dark alleyway.0 -
i do not think anyone on any benefit should be breeding pups as i dont know how they could afford it should things go wrong or not, benefits any benefit is ment for those who are on a low income and to help them and if relevant there family not to assist in the breeding of there dog or to boost there income even as a one off it would bring in a lot of money with a pug.
as for breeding dogs cats rabbits do not agree with it at all they turn into little money making machines and while so many of the pups are unwanted when they chew nip scratch or poo everywhere i do not think making more pups kittens ect is needed while pet charities are refusing to take anymore in to there care
and if you dont want to hear the negative then do not post on a public forum and just phone the relevant authorities in the first place, people just do not always want to hear what others have to say even if it is harsh0 -
I have experience with breeding dogs, in-fact I have over 20 years experience training dogs and allot of breeding. Let me tell you it will be allot more expensive then you think to bring up the litter, especially your first, am talking allot more than your thinking. You will end up going out of pocket, especially because your on benefits, you will be using all your benefits to bring them up, you will be lucky to even make your money back.
Experienced breeders are just that, they done it for years and know what to do. It's the experience that's key with them to make it successful in terms of money, but only the good ones actually make money, but they invest allot to get there, but proper breeders do it for the breed, the money is a bonus. It's just wishful thinking if you think you can make money out of it, and just a bad situation if your doing it just because you want puppies.
You will also have to take into account that it's not like looking after a baby, it's much much worse, you will have to stay with the pups all night for the first days/weeks, and they will keep you awake allot. Imagine 6-9 kids running around, but at any time the dam can squash them or kill one of them, just by taking your eye of them for one minute. Puppies get squashed, some get ill, the damn will kill any that are not well so they need to be checked properly by a vet. Then you have to consider the amount of stress and food the dam will need, which adds the costs up massively, but there is so much more it's endless, it's a massive commitment and one you don't want to do really.
Also there is to many dogs, dogs are getting put down every day of all ages as there's to many dogs and not enough homes, so I strongly disagree with breeding for the money or just for the passion, let people get the dogs that really do need a home and don't use the money you get for living for breeding a dog.0
