I have a long long list of telephone calls to do today including chasing up Alan's Pension death benefit which hasn't hit my bank yet, chasing up my ESA which should have gone into the bank on Monday, chasing up housing about my bathroom being made into a wetroom, etc I have a feeling it is going to be a    day ;)

Update on my phone calls .... and I knew I would get

I rang Alan's pension people and they sent two cheques out, separately, on 21st August. The small amount hit my account on 23rd August and cleared overnight 24th/25th Fri/Sat but no sign of the large cheque yet. Bank say nothing pending and to get pension firm to cancel/issue new cheque. Pension firm say can't do that until 10 working days have passed, so I have to wait until Tuesday next wekk and ring them then if still not with bank. Thing is, I needed that money to get my car on Saturday so, unless it appears later today or possibly tomorrow, I will have to delay getting my car :(:(

When I rang about my ESA they said it had been 'pulled out for query' exactly as happened two weeks ago, even though it shouldn't have been, so they are processing today and will get it tomorrow/Friday and it 'should' be ok for next time

Then I rang about my bathroom to be told that it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get the result of the asbestos survey and it is only 3 weeks since they did the survey. I said that if I had been told this in the first place I would not have been ringing up to see what was happening for the last 10 days or so, to be fobbed off. And then I asked how we were told in April that the job was put on Priority 1 which was 'to do within one month' if all this had to be done and it couldn't possibly be done within the time we were told  Plus it was set at that due to husbands condition and he had died before it was done and I am still waiting. For God's sake, the Occ Therapist told us the shower was dangerous and we were not to use it until bathroom was changed to a wet room. Imagine if we had done as he said? No shower since 19th April   I still use the shower, I have to, but have had 2 falls since then due to the 9 inch step into tray and the slippery tray, plus many 'almost falls'

So it is a    day so far :(

At least the garden is coming along nicely :rotfl: :rotfl:

Wasnt sure if he had to stand on the plinth to smoke but if not surely some sort of body language behavioural thing looking down on her

Think he had to stand on it, I don't think he's quite as daft as he looks;)I think hes gorgeous:o

Out of all the places I've been I've never once took any insurance details with me, I've never bothered to find out the contact details for the British Embassies, I've never had a copy of the photograph page of my passport, I've never had any emergency contact details with me, other than the ones in the back page of my passport.

Tonight I've just made 4 copies (each one to be placed about my person and my belongings) of my passport and on the back of each of them I've wrote the telephone number and policy number of my travel insurance, the telephone number and address of the embassies and 2 lots of emergency contact details. I can't help but feel that I'm tempting fate.:(

Always email yourself a copy of your documents, so you can access them abroad if you need to

EDIT: Someone beat me to it
NO MORE HANDWASH GLITCHES PLEASE :D:D

Hi Everyone, newbie here who has been enjoying the chat and after finally been taunted with A's wine deal, I dragged the OH up on the bicycle with me to get 6 bottles.. He's not complaining now *hic* and was awesome to see the APG approved! My first APG glitch! ^_^ I've mostly been a OOD discount freak but I've really wanted to master coupons etc as I hate spending where I don't have too!

Anyway, finally had the courage to join in and wanted to say thanks for the wine tip!

I did watch it one year. I kept clicking on the runner ups blog. The pink whisk or something like that.

Very inspiring! I LOVE cookery programmes but I tend to get addicted. Love all things masterchef too but haven't yet clicked on to the catchup for celebrity masterchef yet this season either. :o

    Me too! :D

I used to love watching them, still do, until I realised I have so many 'baking' cookbooks that I haven't even tried making things from!:o

With that being said, I have a packet of unsalted butter in the fridge from ages:o so will bake something with that today or tomorrow... pics to follow!;)
