I just tell OH 'I'm ovulating' and he says 'do we need to do it tonight then?' :rotfl:

    Hugs Loulou.

I wonder, and I might be totally offbeat here, whether you might have had what they call a chemical pregnancy? It's when you do fertilise the egg but it doesn't implant, so your period is just a day or so late but is heavier than usual, sometimes with clots.

I know you'll never know for certain, but does that feel completely off-the-wall or not?

I had one in March last year, and got a very very faint line on a test and then my period came a few days later.

I wondered similar myself - chemical or very early miscarriage etc, but think I'm just clutching at straws to be honest.

That said, ( WARNING tmi coming up!) Period is really heavy, I changed tampax at 6pm tonight and when I got home from work just now, it had soaked super tampax, through a panty liner and onto knickers - luckily I wear black trousers! But I'm never this heavy, so along with the clots think something strange is going on, that said the cramps have almost gone.

Thanks for all the support ladies it means a lot :D

Hugs hun. It does sound like a very early miscarriage to me. Which in a funny way could be a positive - that you have conceived and know that you can do it.

I don't mean to sound flippant at all, and I don't want to upset you, but it does sound like a classic very early miscarriage.

I didn't even realise that I had had one until my best mate pointed out what had happened. I was just all 'I got a faint line now I've come on what's going on' and she told me about them.

As far as I know, HCG is only produced after the fertilised egg has implanted. MV, for example, got positive tests on clearblue digi's if I remember correctly, but for what ever reason the embryo wasn't 'normal' so a 'chemical pregnancy' ensued. The following period is heavier and clotty because there is more uterine lining to shed.

Seems to happen all the time apparently but most aren't detected because people's periods are only a day or two late and we shouldn't be testing early! Says the woman who's done tests at 3dpo before now :rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry didn't see this. Today has been horrible, I have a huge headache and not easy to see when scanning through.

Wish I had done a test in some ways now, as at least then I'd know that if it hadve been positive, we were in with a chance of it happening again and it sticking this time. But seeing a positive after 2 years of BFN and then the bleeding starting would've been heartbreaking too, so think its better this way.

Thank you all SO much and here's to us all getting BFPS very soon xx

Sympathy from me too, I'm a migraine sufferer and I know how crippling a major headache can be.

Re chemical pregnancies, I think this has actually scared me off testing early, just a bit. If I saw a line and thought I had my bfp only to find out a few days later that it wasn't a sticky one I'm not sure how well I would cope. My heart went out to MV during those two months she had chemicals. Think I am going to give DH my test stash with instructions not to let me have any until after AF is late.

Lilymay - I thought I was bad for once testing at 6 dpo, but testing at 3 dpo is hilarious! :rotfl:

vic3 - hope it's implantation cramps and not af...
