  • Sending you big hugs Zippy - poor Mr Zippy too but it sounds like you are looking after him and you will be stronger together because of it. My OH always says we can manage anything now after all we've been through and it will be the same for you- everything that's horrible and scary and just not how you wanted it now will make you better together and as a family with kids of your own.

Thanks for doing the lists becca :)

My LP is definitely not consistent - how is this possible? I though it was always supposed to be the same but some months mine has been 14 and then the last two only ten and now I'm on day 11 with not even a hint - is it not supposed to always stay the same?

    Hi,

I post sometimes here and I try to read from time to time (but sometimes I'm trying to forget about TTC )
I have PCOS (with irregular periods) and I am TTC for 2 years now, I have tried to go to the GP numerous times but I have been told that I have to be TTC 2 years . Meanwhile I have been abroad privately and the doctor there gave me Metformin and a progesterone. He told me after 6 months to come back and he will start me on Clomifen (6 months will be this months, so I haven't strated Clomifen yet).
After many trips to the GP here (I had ultrasounds again as the old ones "expired"), my husband had to have 2 sperm tests (the lab made a mistake and did not test in the required time) ... so loads of lost time (months) ... finally they sent me to the fertility clinic next month.
Should I tell the doctor here about the treatment from abroad ? As far as I know they will give me Clomifen first (so it's the same anyway) ?
I am so annoyed at all this lost time (as my period is normally 3-4 months I probably have no ovulation or 1-2 a year so all this years were waisted ... but that's it, hopefully I will finally get some treament now and something will happen.
Now because of the progesterone treatment I had regular periods in the last 6 months, but either I had no ovulation or the ovulation test do not work for me.

Mess - no advice but I would probably tell the doctor here, just so that they know the whole picture of what has happened so far. Hope it goes well x

I'd tell them in case they also.want to try metformin first. do you have any results if tests they did? they tried metformin first with me, for four months and cd1/cd21 blood tests to see if it worked, if I go back (a week on Thursday) and they say I haven't ovulated then they'll give me clomid I hope, although some pcts have maximum BMI for it x

Was thinking of buying the CBFM myself. Were did you get yours coops?

Have been looking ebay etc but just wondered if it would be reliable enough 2nd hand?

My cycles are irregular and the ovulation sticks dont work for me. Would this be a good purchase?

Im not sure - I have a feeling I read its not suitable if your cycles are over 40 days - but I could be totally making that up! I know for me because I have long/irregular cycles I havent bought it because cheap ovulation sticks work for me, and so the CBFM would be extremely expensive if I had to put in several weeks of negative sticks into it!

I think consistant means within 2ish days. So 10-14 is a little off I guess, but I dont think anything to worry about. I think say if you had ones that were like 9 days, 14 days, 16 days, 10 days etc, that might be a bit odd. But again, not sure if it would actually really affect anything. also it could depend exactly on when you ov, like first thing one day, or not until the night etc, that could add on another half day or whatever.
  • Thanks Becca and Claire. Thats what i was thinking in terms of long cycles. Ill give it another month and if i still cant tell when i oved ill hav another think!

Belated hugs to comp. Only just finished reading back. Just think of it as one step closer to the end result and this will be your month.

Hugs Big zippy. You seem to have been really through the mill recently but hopefully now things ill start working out for you.

Think I'm having a month off whether I like it or not. Tried to BD earlier but DH ftc (he didnt seem very into it anyway). Just what I need on the day my ex tells me that not only is he going to be a father, but that his girlfriend tricked him into it and he doesn't even want a baby with her. Sigh.:mad:

The whole irresponsible parent thing annoys me too. There is more than one person in my family who didn't quit smoking while pregnant. Weirdly they did quit caffeine which doesn't make much sense. And there's one who just palms her kids off on everyone - she has baby sitters for every day. And another one who's partner teaches their toddler swears and inappropriate songs.

Hugs for zippy and anyone else who needs one.

Hiya, I bought mine on eBay and it seems just fine. Bought from someone who said it worked for them so worth a try, and a lot less than new. :T
