  • Courgette I am very much liking your post, even if you decide to delete it.

I can also completely understand why you chose to keep the news to yourself.

I would like to offer my sincere congratulations and hope all will go well for you.

Amyloofoo, I know this is a slightly random thing to suddenly come out with but are the midwives in the EPU at Jimmy' s actually trained in not giving a shyt about 1st tri mc? Not remotely even a tiny bit having a go at you at all at all but the way they treat you in the EPU there is just so different from anywhere else I've experienced across the city

I'm sorry I don't have experience of EPU :o I'm very much a postnatal-only lady as I find many of the other aspects of antenatal care too upsetting and / or traumatic. I imagine that the kind of people who work in the EPU have to be a little disconnected from things in order to cope though, maybe it attracts people who aren't naturally empathetic? That's just speculation on my part though, and I'm really sorry you've had a bad experience. I know reliving things might not be the most helpful or desirable thing, but did you contact PALS or the hospital to let them know how you felt?

I'm sending all of my most positive thoughts your way, and would love to meet you at the appropriate time on my ward, IYSWIM.

Big, and very dodgy, hugs :grouphug:

I've always thought it must be a pretty grim place to work but with my last mc the first thing I thought when it started happening was ' oh no, I'm gonna have to deal with them again'. I have wondered whether I should complain but they didn't do anything awful you could put your finger on, it was just the overall attitude
