I wonder in reality if this is really a problem. Most people are not selfish, and won't park in disabled/family bays unless they require them. If the bays are full, to me it suggests they aren't enough disabled bays for legitmate usesr, or they are too little bays in general. I could be wrong but I would imagine those parking in disable bays are in a very small minority.

Absolutely the same as my view.

The hysteria about bay abuse in Supermarket car parks was started by a flawed Baywatch scheme put forward by Disabled Motorists UK (used to be Mobilise) who are in bed with the PPCs as we all know. It is their fault that we are where we are now, they have actually CAUSED disabled people more grief than they can ever imagine, in the form of fake PCNs and threats.

This is the sort of hysteria that was generated years ago by that blo ody Baywatch scheme, read it and weep at the glaring elephant in the room:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3485239.stm

''The results show that almost 21% of disabled parking spaces were occupied by cars without a blue parking badge - which compares with 18.5% at the same time last year. ''

Did they really? And the survey presumably also included asking people what their reasons were for using those bays, had they forgotten to put the badge up, were they collecting someone who qualified, were they disabled in some way in fact? NAAAAH, thought not, why let the truth get in the way of a good story/scam?

@fivetide, your wife's situation where she forgot the BB that time would have been counted as one of those 'abuse' cases.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
