Been with o2 since I was 18 (nearly 10 years jings!)
Never been called... ever..
Except when someone called me stating.. they believed I was out of my o2 contract and would I be interested in switching.. funnily.. I wasn't out of contract.. I am now and no phone calls
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -
Aerial Direct used very aggressive sales tactics on my fiancee, phoning multiple times per day, she got fed up and agreed to a new 24 month contract paying more than she currently does (on a 1 month rolling contract). She clicked a link on an email (they're aggressive with those too!) but hasn't signed a paper document yet.
This was all 2-3 working days ago and now obviously realising her mistake she doesn't want to go through with this contract. They say there is no cooling off period and she cannot back out as she has e-signed something.
I spoke to O2 and they refuse to get involved saying that they are the network provider not the contract provider.
Surely they are obliged to offer a cooling down period? I am waiting to speak to a manager at the moment and I really think this is poor business from Aerial Direct but it is also influencing my views on O2 who have obviously chosen them as a business partner.0 -
Well, this is very strange reaction for a 'fed up' person.Aerial Direct used very aggressive sales tactics on my fiancee, phoning multiple times per day, she got fed up and agreed to a new 24 month contract paying more than she currently does (on a 1 month rolling contract).
They are - for new contracts. If it was an 'upgrade' on the same network, the cooling off period applies only if the new contract has not started yet or she has not used any O2 services since it started.Surely they are obliged to offer a cooling down period?0 -
Yes I would say it was a very strange reaction too! However from the way she tells me they made it sound like she was getting a much better deal and didn't realise she didn't need the extra minutes/data in the new contract. She isn't very good with cold callers.0

Hope this will help someone .........
I had a very long call yesterday from a girl basically selling herself as someone from Vodafone. Her implication was that there is a tie-up between Vodafone and O2 so switching my nearly expired business contract to O2 was no problem as the 2 companies had 'merged' their operations.
To cut a long story short, she persuaded me to go with a new contract, but this time with a new O2 line. The deal was better than the existing Vodafone one we have, but since it was still basically with Vodafone (due to the 'tie-up' they had with O2) I was happy (I've been with Vodafone since their numbers started with 0374, so a long time!)
When the e-contract arrived in my business inbox I could see no mention of either Vodafone or O2, but a company called Aerial Direct with whom I had never had any contact, so before I e-signed anything I did some research, decided I did not like the 'smell' of this, and sent back an email, stating that I had no wish nor intention of proceeding and that the misrepresentation they had indulged in rendered any agreement between us null and void, and that I had contacted my bank and advised them that no monies were to be taken from my account.
A phone call shortly afterwards from Danielle (from whom I got the original phone call) gave me the further opportunity to reiterated my view that the whole episode was misrepresentation on their part and I wanted nothing to do with it. As a result of these actions on my part no agreement exists.
Do hope this helps prevent someone getting tied up in a deal that is not what is seems. Aerial Direct are NOTHING to do with either Vodafone or O2, and these 2 companies should do something about allowing third parties to use their names in this fashion.0 -
Just had a similar call from Ariel Direct offering to cut my bill with 02. I have always gone for the free phone tariff since the first iPhone so therefore I pay about £45 a month. I had to change tariff when I got the iPhone 4s as unlimited data no longer applied. I regularly go over my data & top up. Ive been paying about £60 a month. Ariel Direct were offering me a new 24 months contract with 02 provided I was happy with them (which I am) for £26.83 a month on a Business Unlimited Plus plan.
I though this was too good to be true & called 02. Ariel Direct are a partner of 02 who do work for them when "a lot of people need to be called" You can find a list of their partners on the 02 website.
The only odd thing was Ariel Direct never asked about my business to move me to a business tariff. 02 offered me a cheaper monthly tariff deal than Ariel Direct had & it wasnt a "business tariff" for 12 months (not 24 Months) It is basically a Sim only deal.
It seems Ariel Direct are legit. Im still in shock really at a possible £40 a month saving.0 -
Poor o2.
First they gave up trying to keep people on their network. Now they are being targeted by "Aerial Direct".

WHOIS suggests they are based in Southsea.
I personally wouldn't trust them. I will be the one to hunt out the deal rather than someone trying to sell me something.0
