Today i got a phone call saying because i had been loyal to them i could either get some cash back or get a free phone. I was out when she called and my phone was dying so she said she would call back on monday so i couldn't get a ton of specifics.
I was just wondering if anyone else was offered this? Just seems odd to me that i'm being offered a phone on a sim only contract. Any one had the same experience? Obviously if it's not a way to get more money from me then its a great deal but i thought i'd get a few opinions first!
You can get sim only deals for a lot less at the moment - O2 just prolly want to try and retain your business before you find a better deal somewhere elseWhen will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
May not be o2, but when I worked for one of their rivals, we used to do something similar (although we didn't proactively call customers). Every time you topped up, 10% of the top up value was put aside and saved on the account. Over time this accumulates (in your case to around £100) and could be used for money off phones (if switching to contract) or for bolt on type packages (megabytes/texts/picture messages, that sort of thing). Just call o2 and ask them0

Just wanted to let everyone know that I also had a similar call from a company called Aerial Direct claiming to be calling on behalf of O2 and offering me a deal that sounded too good to be true with either a new phone or a cash back voucher alternative. I contacted O2 customer services about this today and they have confirmed that this company is NOT a registered partner of O2 and to take caution as it could be a scam. They have also passed my information onto their fraud team, who are going to investigate this in more depth.

Funny how you also claim to be part of Vodafone too :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:AerialDirect wrote: »Hi Aerial Direct is totally legitimate company and not a scam we are a partner of O2
Please see O2's website /business/wheretobuy/partners
Allways Happy to helpIt's not just about the money0 -
Don't panic this was a genuine call from O2. They are obviously targeting us users on SIM only deals. Chap called this morning and offered me either a new free HTC C hand set or a £150 cheque. The tariff details were the same but the catch was moving from SIM only to a 24 month contract.
I declined on two accounts. Firstly the HTC C is actually not a great spec upgrade on my existing HTC Desire. More importantly what with the news this week about Orange possibly getting 4G ahead of the other operators you will need 4G enable phones.0 -
Can Ariel Direct please post URL to Vodaphone and O2 pleaseI can't find a link on the website.
Many thanks0 -

I was recently cold called by aerial direct who used aggressive sales techniques to poach me from voda fone. Constant calls, I was under the impression they were voda fone calling because my contract had come to an end. I signed an online contract and now my phone doesn't work, all my contacts have been lost and O2 don't seem to be able to sort it out. I Do not recommend aerial direct.0

When I called to cancel my o2 contract (been with them since they were Bt Cellnet) they didn't even want to know why I was leaving, let alone offer me a deal to stay.
I received the confirmation text within 20 minutes. So much for loyalty."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0
