You can refund an e-cheque before it clears - I've done this with someone who bought from me, wanted it quickly and didn't realise that they'd paid by e-cheque; they offered Bank transfer, so I just clicked on 'Refund' on the PayPal details page and it bounced the e-cheque back. ;)

I may be further compounding my aura of ignorance on echeques further here... but... if you refund an echeque and it later bounces, don't you lose out?

Or is this not how it works?
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

personally i think you should let the echeque clear and then send them the goods. They may want them for another reason than the obvious although i cant think what that would be. darwin was right about alot of things including you buyer.

What are the vouchers you are trying to sell? could you not go and buy some more vouchers with the ones that are about to expire? because if this buyer cancels his e-chq what if he doesn't bother to re-send you more money?

at least if you have more vouchers you could re-sell them?

Problem with e-cheques is the money may have left their account but not yet be in yours. However until the moment it's in your account then they can cancel it and call it back. So if you post before the money is in your account chances are they will cancel and you loose both the vouchers and the money.
Cancel their payment (call Paypal if you need help) and do a NPB on Ebay if they won't send the money by instant paypal and offer it to the second highest bidder. I have to say the fact that they are trying to et you to send the vouchers before the money has cleared smacks of "trying it on" to me...
