I think what I wrote didn't read well. You obviously are offended so please accept my apology. My intention was to impart the sense that the fight SHOULD have been unnecessary and never more so than in the situation you were in. Sorry it didn't work out in reading, have a good weekend
Ah, sorry I did misunderstand; thought you were saying it wasn't worth making a fuss because PC was dying anyway. Wasn't offended, tbh was more incredulous at that suggestion.
Many apologies for going off on one - didn't realise am still feeling so over-sensitive..0 -
Hello Diary and Dear Friends, :hello:
A new day and fresh start; what a good idea.
Am really enjoying being at the Nest just with Dear Daft Dogs; it's so peaceful (despite gusting wind and the discordant sound of Neighbour strimming - time to cut back all the gorgeous spring flowers before they dry out and become a fire risk**).
**Ah - not a good job right now; the new bees appeared to have settled down, but they've just driven Neighbour away!
<Mental note to self - wait until the evening when bees are less active before doing anything noisy in the garden!>
Vet is overly busy this weekend so has postponed my reason for going out. CD woke up crying in the night so am not best pleased about the delay, but would rather Vet has plenty of time for her than had to rush the next set of investigations because he's supposed to be operating on other folks' pets.
..CD seems fine this morning.
Not so me; have oedema in my extremities - rings are tight on swollen fingers [can't remove 'em] and my shoes don't fit.
Not panicking; let's try a cleansing diet and some gentle exercise to improve circulation?
Time to whizz up the season's first batch of gazpacho.0 -
Oh poor CD, that sounds like Doglet, we managed with a combination of pain meds, evening walking and covering him up to be warm in the wee small hours
Hope vet can see her soon.
As for your extremities, think your plan sounds good, hope it works too. Suffering with similar and Reynaurds I can sympathiseStart info Dec11

Hi Robin
This time last year's are always hard. Once you can no longer say this things ease a bit. I think you have coped tremendously with all life has thrown at you - we women seem to be able to get through all sorts of c*p don't we? Hope your dear dog is ok.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Just caught up with your diary at this ungodly hour and I was so moved by your post about the BP sufferer who turned up at your door and shouted at the children I was moved to tears. I really do think you don't realise how much your attitude to people with mental health issues and the help you afford them is light years ahead of most other people. I understand only too well the regret felt at wishing you could've acted differently in a situation, but not only do I think your actions were sound, the experience has given you the insight to help quite a few others by the sounds of it. :A I was also moved by the retelling of your night in the hospital with PC. It seems you will always do the right thing instinctively (your handling of the confused man), the world needs more people like you!Barclaycard [STRIKE] £2770 [/STRIKE] now £2690.

Gosh. Well thank you everyone for your lovely, very kind words. :T
Rendered me speechless..

......
Still speechless.

Default to garden - achieved quite a lot:
Broad beans harvested, terrace cleaned off ready for fertilizer then salads.
Rest of spuds harvested, terrace ready to put up tomato canes [tomorrow?].
Put up netting for peas.
First section of R's new terrace prepared for artichokes.
Weeded below patio. Nice surprise; there are lots of succulents which not only survived last summer but now have loads of gorgeous mauve and yellow flowers (were hidden by the much taller [STRIKE]weeds[/STRIKE] wild flowers/grasses/thistles).
Gazpacho was yummy; exceedingly tasty, very filling - and cleansing. Now have ankles again.0 -
