Hellooo Peoples-in-the-Box!
Mistress has shut me indoors because I was arguing with Little Dragon. He was on my terrace right outside door - not his place, he has all garden and trees to play in!
Must admit I was thinking of biting him when he would not go away - but didn't do it, just shouted at him.
Mistress rushed outside so quick to see, she left her box on (maybe for me to play with while Little Dragon goes away?).
It's cooler in the house anyway, so I doesn't mind. And I didn't really want to hurt Little Dragon. <wagwagwagwag!>0 -
It's me again.
Mistress forgot to shut the box before going out, so I guess she won't mind me playing with it?
Yesterday I went out in the van with her, it was awfully hot even though I was wearing Little Girl's jacket. Mistress kept pouring water on it to keep me cooler and took me into the shops with her.
Then I got stabbed and Dear Vet said something to Mistress which made her sad. So sad we didn't go to the beach but came straight home. I didn't mind, I was very tired from all the hotness.
Mistress has gone to get me medicine Dear Vet wrote on a paper. I hope it's not more stabbings.
I think I'll have another snooze now, it's hard work typing with a nose. <wagwag>0 -
Dear Diary, :hello:
CD's medicine is not injections, but drops - she doesn't mind being given 'em.
Didn't mention it earlier, but a couple of times in the last fortnight, CD did something which gave pause for thought: One day I had to move a large plant pot to a new spot on the top terrace - CD just walked into it. Another day a piece of chicken fell on the floor when she was standing next to me - she ignored it.
Yesterday morning while giving my darling companion a cuddle, suddenly realised the pupils of her eyes were different sizes.. That was enough clues to change priorities for the day and head into town (taking precautions to stop CD cooking in the van - nobody commented when she accompanied me inside the other shops that were on my 'town essential' list, although Dear Vet was kind enough to look after CD in her air conditioned clinic for twenty minutes, while I picked up a couple of bits-not-available-in-the-campo at the supermarket).
Watching DV's face as she peered at the back of CD's eye through her opthalmoscope, it was clear she was not about to give me good news. We have antibiotic drops for the weekend, instructions to return next week when the blood test results are back and a specialist will be available.
DV said she is not confident of a successful outcome; CD is almost completely blind in that eye.
On the one hand, am devastated. On the other, if this had to happen I'm glad we're still at the Nest. Now feels like being in limbo; no longer in control. Nothing to do but surrender (while continuing crossing off items on the Planning to Go list - keep options open).
Have to collect Divo Two's car - he won't be pleased; thus far dogs have been banned from [STRIKE]travelling in it[/STRIKE] mucking it up. But needs must; DS2 will not refuse his Mum, I hope.
Other news: First stop in town - Irrigation HQ. Started off trying to talk to Grandpa, but after a couple of minutes the little fairy on m' shoulder was ringing it's bell fit to bust; forget about plumbing this man was heading fast into a stroke! Before I mentioned the word, he told me he had a major stroke two years ago - so I found Auntie who was equally alarmed, and sent him off to hospital with a cousin. Hope he's ok!
New timer-valve-thingy had still not turned up from the factory. Auntie said she's found one somewhere else, due to arrive on Monday. We shall see.
Second stop - timber workshop, to order a security door (atm there's no-where inside the Nest that can be locked. Plan[ned**] to leave Gardener a key for the front door in case the bore-hole pump needs resetting, but don't know him well enough to trust him with access to those possessions I'd rather not lose).
Spends: DV - £30. Deposit on door - £85. Groceries - £30.
**Just found out Gardener has resigned - he has a better-paying project.
Not a disaster; was already fed up with waiting for him, so offered Plumber the next jobs lined up for Gardener - Plumber is a man of many talents, delighted to take on anything he's capable of which helps him earn a living. He came back first thing yesterday and fixed the boiler, but couldn't let him carry on then because it was more important to get CD to the vet (ah, extra spend: £17 to Plumber).0 -

Dear Diary and MSE Friends, :hello:
Thanks everyone for your good wishes to CD - Knit Witch, Maddiemay, Brizzled, DFw and Granny - CD was delighted with all the attention, especially as she's more comfortable now that her drops are reducing the inflammation inside her eye.
Weird dreams last night; first I was learning how to fly, using mental effort only. Then it changed to a deal with the Creator: If I could train a dog he sent me, then he would make everything ok for CD.. The "dog", wearing a jacket just like Little Girl's, turned out to be a wild boar complete with tusks!
..Not sure what to make of that, but the flying part was fun lol.
Summer really has arrived - it's too hot for us; CD and I have been hiding inside the Nest since ten o'clock this morning. A plume of mucky smoke is drifting along the coast from the first big fire of the season; emergency helicopters and 'planes have been trying to beat the wind-blown flames all day. No danger here but so sad to think of the precious forests burning, the wild animals who can't outrun the fire, and the unfortunate folk who live in it's path..
ETA: "The unfortunate folk" - meaning those who have lost property; afaik the local evacuation arrangements were successful, nobody was hurt.
Also forgot to say; heard from DS3, he's doing ok but moving very fast, just started his summer job and is enjoying it.
Not such good news from Divo Two: GF tried to step off the wheel again, so is back in hospital. DS2 has had enough - it's obviously not him she needs to keep her happy, so he's moving out. Her family have been horrible to him about it.
Wish he wasn't so far away..0 -
Aw Robin, such a lot for you to deal with there. I'm sorry I can't offer anything better than virtual hugs and an ear to bend. Lots of love XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
