Knit Witch - thanks for hugs and doggy cheerfulness.
How are you getting on with all your projects? Hope your health is improving, now that summer is upon us.
Doggy cheerfulness is always good (I can be as down as a down thing and some nose nudges and tail wags from the Cairns of the House cheer me up!)
I am getting on with MOST of my projects, actually the knitting is the thing on hold at the moment :rotfl:, I am trying to get some stitching UFOs sorted!
*Robin* the person with the MH problems is NOT your concern/problem, so I'm glad you are staying well out of it!Must use my stash up!0 -
Good morning Diary and Dear Friends, :hello:
Sorry, missed your last comment Sparky; think we cross-posted. Thanks for your very kind words - DS3 put a far less charitable slant on my 'outspokenness' which was quite a blow.
Thanks for popping in, Knit Witch.
"Stitching UFOs" - how very intriguing! Whatever they are, I hope you can identify 'em without ill effect to yourself or your household!
CD sends wags, licks, slightly-arthritic bounces and woofs to your Cairn boys - she wants to know if they like playing with a bigger dog (who promises not to be too rough)?
Am finding it very hard to believe a week has rushed past since DS3 went through the freezer looking out ingredients for our family lunch with DGS.
Just discovered he left half a dozen defrosted but uncooked sausages in the fridge - hope CD will accept 'em for her lunch today..
The last few days have been taken up with water problems: Irrigation Bloke's Mate fitted the timer backwards on the main pipe which resulted in the connection being open all the time. He also forgot to install the master stop-c*ck I'd asked for, and omitted to cap the end of one line, which meant that overnight both tank and borehole were drained - luckily a trip-switch in the pump-house saved the main pump from burning out.
Had to shut off the water supply to the Nest in order to start up the pump again, leaving me with only a hosepipe on the water-tank tap trailing inside the house..
Fair play to the company; they sent Mate back within a couple of hours of m' plaintive call. He reversed the timer and added a beefy on / off tap at the start of the irrigation pipes (I'd already capped the line he left pouring water over a cliff).
Several hours later it became clear the timer was still permanently 'open', no matter how the controls were set. At least I was able to shut off the irrigation completely, giving the water level in the bore-hole a chance to recover.
'Phoned again, but told Mum I'd be out for a few hours - thinking, send the lads over when I've returned.. Now suspect she told them:
"Get over there and sort it out fast - before Robin gets back!"
..Because no-one turned up in the afternoon, but last night the system worked properly (I think). :T
Have still got a few changes to make; Mate put some of the lines going uphill - one's a metre off the ground in an almond tree! :rotfl: - and has placed some drippers at random, watering solid rock. Reckon I can manage to sort out those snags m'self.
..So much for employing professionals to ensure getting a system which works first time, lol. Haven't yet paid - that can wait until am certain nothing else is going to go wrong.
Divo Three went to see our local lawyer, hoping his paperwork was ready after two years..
"No, sorry" she said, "But your parents' documents have come back from the land registry."
???
Well. That solved a mystery - have been stalled on the next stage of sorting out DH's estate for ages, because I couldn't find the deeds to the Nest. Turns out it has taken well over a decade for our purchase to be properly recorded!
We're looking for another lawyer.
Just what is needed when DS3 and I are both trying to be elsewhere.
New Gardener has done two days' work so far; both Nest and DH's cottages now look much tidier.
Not sure when he'll be back, because Divo One grabbed him - the lad started with a few hours' work but is now full-time within a week; DS1 wants the extensive gardens of his holiday rental villa to be pristine for the summer visitors.
Happy Gardener, eh?
Plumber sent me some gorgeous 'photos of his newly-hatched chicks, along with a plea to take him to town because he'd run out of whatever they eat.
My spends came to 35€ - on dog food, fresh milk, and a new window-winder for the van which was money well spent - it was very annoying [and slow] having to use a pair of pliers ever since the old handle fell apart.
Still don't want a vehicle with electric windows though! :rotfl:0 -

Oh Robin! *hugs* I think you (like me recently) need to remember to take care of yourself, take some time out and go and meditate, it always makes me feel more grounded, focussed and calmer afterwards! I'm so sorry to hear of all the problems you're having. I know - ridiculous isn't it (the Manana Principle)? :cool:Knit_Witch wrote: » to all the sprinkler problems
Still ongoing. Every evening I redesign a section, but still need a new timer-control-gizmo, as it turned out Irrigation Man had not returned the other day while we were out.
Might have to pay another visit to Boss, collect a boxed replacement (and borrow tools to fit it m'self - well; Plumber or Gardener will wield 'em, not me, lol).
 May be possible to combine the outing with collecting Nest's deeds? Two birds etc.
Financial news: My Pa7pal a/c has been hacked!
They are investigating...
Have changed lots of bank passwords just in case, although can't see anything else amiss (yet?).debtfreewannabe321 wrote:Oh Robin! *hugs* I think you (like me recently) need to remember to take care of yourself, take some time out and go and meditate, it always makes me feel more grounded, focussed and calmer afterwards! Thanks for the hugs, DFw.
You're right. Have decided to ignore the whole PBC situation for now, and focus on sorting out the things I can deal with, and must, before waving farewell to the Nest.
Right now, that means taking advantage of a rare cloudy day and getting back to the garden, planting out as much as possible in the newly irrigated areas.
Hopefully also lose m'self in restorative Practise.
Oh. CD wasn't impressed with the sausages; buried 'em in the new flower bed right next to the Nest - then her mate Foxy dug 'em up in the middle of the night - made a helluva mess!
..Still, managed to laugh and give CD a cuddle - she looked so woebegone while I was sorting it out. :heart2:0 -
Oh CD you are a clever dog but sausages? I would have eaten them all up! you look after Robin, she is having lots of issues (was going to write water problems and then thought about how that might look!! haha!)
Hope all the issues are swiftly sorted x

Haha @CD!
When ours was on the raw food he used to love chicken thighs but would save them all before eating, they must taste better with mud all over them??? He put one in the flower bed one day and I removed it whilst he was napping, DS2 & DD came running in that afternoon whilst I was cooking saying the dog was going mad- he'd dug up/knocked over 3 different pots and the flower bed looking for this one chicken thigh - he must've wondered who the heck had stolen it :rotfl: was very funny and thankfully before any flowers had actually grown or I might have been a little more upset:rotfl:

Helloooo Peoples-in-the-Box!Brightspark87 wrote: »Oh CD you are a clever dog but sausages? I would have eaten them all up!
Pleased to meet you Miss Brightspark! <wagwaglick!> Bright sparks like fireworks? Very pretty in the sky but not nice for dogs close up - I shall be on my best behaviour for you! <rollover - tummy tickle please?>
Sausages? I likes 'em hotted up - but Mistress put them in my bowl cold and raw - strange pappy minced up taste not to the liking of this civilised girl! :rotfl:
Anyway Foxy's need was greater - can't hunt his usual territory because the partridge killers put bad meat there; made his sister stop.
But he did make a horrible mess finding my gifts.
I has learned now; hid a share of chicken for him in one of my secret places where Mistress doesn't go.Brightspark87 wrote: »you look after Robin, she is having lots of issues (was going to write water problems and then thought about how that might look!! haha!)
Umm, that's a two-leg-people joke, right?
Don't know about issues; Mistress is certainly distracted at the moment, spending so much time trudging up and down the garden carrying a jug of hot water that she sometimes gets too tired for our W A L K.
Wish she'd get her priorities sorted out... But of course I looks after Mistress - we has a symbiotic [my word of the day] relationship!

Your dog is right; raw meat tastes much better when it's been warmed in the good earth for a while.
Poor Duke [his name, yes?] must have been sooo confused.
Hope you saved his chicken for him nice n' muddy?
..Chicken is proper food for dogs; meaty bits and bony bits - nothing better! <wagwagwagwag!>
Ooooo - just heard Mistress talking to Mophead-Master in the far-talk-box - we're going to the beach this evening hooray! <wagwagbouncebouncebounce!>0 -
Hey CD <tummy tickles>, lovely to hear from you!
Hope you enjoy your time at the beach. I hope the sea air helps to clear Mistress' head too XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hello CD, Miss MM (the one in the picture) is envious of you going to the beach, she used to live by the seaside, until we (her people) moved a long way from the coast, but she is happy because she has a big garden to play in now and in the summer spends most of the day there and only comes in when she wants to lie on a comfy bed (one that she lets us humans share too).
She hopes that the Mistress doesn't give you any more raw sausages, much nicer cooked! The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
