Alleged Flouting of the Law

A new neighbour several doors down has arrived on our street.
The usual greetings were exchanged at the time, however over the next few weeks it has become obvious they have 2 cars.
The older one never goes onto their drive and has clearly seen better days.
We assumed they would dispose of it but it disappears for a while, then comes back.
It clearly shows a battered and loose tax disc (once stuck to the windscreen with sellotape) of expiry date April 2012.
There is no current tax disc showing which I understand in itself is an offence. If it is indeed untaxed then I understand it is not insured either even if they pay for insurance. For the avoidance of doubt it is used and parked 'on the public highway'.
What do we do (4 options I think) ?
Well you could remind them so that they think your being all neighbourly and they'll get it taxed....... But I suspect in reality you don't give a flying f*ck bout the tax and only care about having an old car making the street look untidy

Does sound like they dont like having an old car in the street rather than the tax issue.
My neighbour had to MOT their car, How dare they shame the whole street by having a car so old it needs an MOT. Disgusting.
I am going to setup a website to shame them. And list some cars that are in keeping with our street.
Anything less than £75,000 and its not on the list.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The Op sounds like that are irritated that car is lowering the tone, or is irritated that there are 2 more cars in the street and that is effecting the places where everyone can park their cars. (we've just had that problem when we moved in because the guy opposite didn't like the radical idea we were parking outside of our own house and he had to bump down the street a little after our house had never had an owner with a car and then we turned up!)0

No issue with shopping someone that deserves it.
It is the passive aggressive 'go directly to grass do not pass conversation' that annoys me about it all.
As said, it might be an over sight with the move, nothing more.
