dishwasher for me please!
We live in a flat at present and manage quite happily drying clothes indoors on airers/radiators (there is outside drying space too, but we never use it).
I would love a dishwasher if we had space (and wern't moving in a couple of weeks!)0 -
Never had either, so can't say, but I suppose if there was nowhere to dry anything, a tumble drier would be best, although my son managed OK with a clothes horse in the bathroom.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Just remembered, one of the lads who lives in my house in the UK asked if they could have a dishwasher.
I told him they'd already got three! (The three people who live in the house).
Although none of them seem to work.......
So it seems he at least would rather have a diswasher than a tumble drier. They have a large garden to dry washing.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

i would prefer a dryer every time.
I used to live in a house without a washing machine or dryer (laundrette across the road) and always thought i would prefer a dishwasher but now, having lived in a house with a washing machine and separate dryer i would always choose the dryer. Saves so much time and is so convenient.0 -
We had a dishwasher & washer/drier at last flat and i rarely used the drier as it would take so long to actually dry stuff and many of my clothes wouldn't of been suitable to put in it. No idea if we have a washer with a drier here as its easier & cheaper just to put things on a hang drier by the window to dry. I usually put washing on an extra spin cycle and then they dry over night.
Personally drying clothes don't really take much effort on my part so i prefer a dishwasher, as i hate having to do the pots and you can also hide the dirty's away in it!0 -

I have never had a dishwasher and they seem a total waste but a tumble drier means i can have clean dry clothes within an hour anytime day or night.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

my vote is for a tumble dryer, in my flat there is no outside space to hang washing and although I put most of it on airers I use the TD for bedding and towels every week. My flat is not particularly warm ( storage heaters) and so big things take ages to dry and I hate having all my laundry everywhere on airers for ages as I havent got much space so cant hide it away.
I completely understand the arguement that dishwashers hide dirty crockery though. I actually put mine in a washing up bowl in the cupboard under the sink and then take it out at the end of the day to wash it all up.0 -
I wouldnt fit either unless the tennant askedA dishwasher or a tumble dryer?
Am getting a flat ready to be relet and am intending install one or the other. Can't afford both at the moment, so it will be one now and the other in 6-12 months time. So please tell me which you would prefer?0 -
i vote dishwasher.
i use mine twice a day (with 2 kids around too though). i've used the tumble drier part of my washer/drier twice in 4 years. i hate putting stuff in it. it costs lots to run, very few of my clothes can actually go in it, and it shrinks the kids clothes.....like they need that growing as fast as they do :rolleyes:0
