Sorry, but I just have to step in here. Own My Own - you haven't been on this forum very long. Those of us who have been here for far longer and "known" Dunroamin for a long time really value and respect her imput. That doesn't mean that we always agree with her, but that isn't a reason to be rude and unpleasant!

For what it is worth, I work in a school, have several children and am also disabled, and I have never felt bullied by Dunroamin - and the vast majority of her judgements on education and benefits are spot on, imho.

I'm just very glad this starts next year and not this year. My dd is going to begin her A-levels this year, and it is reassuring to know that everyone in her class is there because they want to learn, and not because they had to stay in education.

I hate to step into this argument, but I am afraid that Raising the Participation Age begins this year, with the current Y11 students. My stepson is compelled to stay in school/FE/Training until 1st September after his 17th birthday, which is next year.

It's the same with my year 11 child, although she is not actually in school, but she also has to remain in training or education [and that can include home ed although she is looking at colleges].

Then you should learn to read, because unless she is one if sad people who keep changing they username she has been on here one whole month longer than me. That's not much longer now is it. Hope you don't teach maths.

She had a previous user name which she changed due to not being able to access her MSE account.

Is there any need to be quite so rude? Could you not just have asked the question politely?

Dunroamin has changed her username once and made no secret of it.

She has been here a long time.

Now you are being rude to Bennifred also?

It might be time to have a cup of tea and some time away from the computer - you're alienating a lot of people in your current mood.

As a complete outsider you have not seen the deterioration of her posts. Or her constant bullying if disabled posters. She was once a very informative poster, it is only of late that her comments have become somewhat bitter and twisted.

I made a simple comment that I was glad this new education system was not being bought in until after my dd had started her A-levels, to be told I was somehow wrong. My wishes are not wrong, they are simply my wishes.

She has been accused of bullying on a number of threads, and sadly I am beginning to see the point of her victims.

Pot, kettle and black are the words that come to mind. Dunroamin's posts are factual and to the point, she gives her opinion, as is her right. If you don't like what she says why don't you just ignore her posts instead of coming out with your own diatribe.

Dunroamin was an established poster when I joined, so yes, she's been here awhile. She can be blunt, but her point of view is usually worth considering, even if ultimately you disagree.
