Just on here to consolidate a few thoughts.
DS's ex fiancee doing ok this week which is positive.
Pay day has been and budgets looking ok.
This month need to pay car tax.
Next month - service, MOT, day out spends, dog grooming, car insurance.

    That's enough for now.

Well done, Jazee. That's very organised.

I looked at my bank account after the trip to France and a bit of a buying spree getting hold of stuff that we need to finish off projects we'd already started or committed ourselves to. It is a bit . Actually, more than a bit.
    Better is good enough.

Ok so add to the list above a vet bill and I've booked another holiday and bought a new printer as the very old one died.

In my very complicated savings set up, none of our long term savings have been used for any of this but we have eaten into 75% of our emergency funds which now need to be gradually replenished while I try to save too.

Life is going ok at the moment. DS is homeless but travelling the country for work so it doesn't really matter at the moment and he seems happy. His ex fianc!e has got her dream job now she doesn't have to factor anyone else into her decisions.

I was totally spoiled on Mother's Day, had a great appraisal at work and a lovely day out with friends yesterday.

DH is just working and drinking but seems ok.

Today I'm on my own until this evening and this week am only working two days then I have a week off.

Lovely to hear you're going through a calm patch with some things to look forward to, Jazee. Long may it last.

The week off work was great and getting back to it has been ok too.
Finance wise, still trying to reinstate the emergency fund, but with interest and determination have squirrelled £120 to other savings.
DS needed a guarantor for his new place this week but I don't earn enough now to be able to help him. At least I wasn't a baddy who refused given his track record with money.
DH continues to spend like its going out of fashion.

The week ahead should be low spend for me, just £1.50 for exercise class.

Ok, so I forgot I needed supplies for craft club, birthday card for DSIL, match last night, so I spent about £10 yesterday. Hoping to keep to the £1.50 today!

When setting a budget it's soooo easy to remember all the money due to come in down to pretty much the final penny, but not so much with the stuff going out ....

I did keep to £1.50 yesterday though and no spends today. Yet.

Funny old week. Unexpected visit from my sister who I'd not seen for a few years, tv interview and I'm now a councillor.

    Normal stuff today.

I was pondering yesterday that the only constant in life really is change. So many things have already happened this year that were unexpected.

Anyway DH tells me that he's handing in his notice today so let's see what the day brings.
