More than a week since I posted. We've both been paid, finances are looking ok and I've booked the hotel for September.

My mood though is not lifted fully. A combination of lack of sleep, possible menopausal stuff and constant worry about DH and his drinking.

    Dentist later, already paid for.

Morning diary. Time off the paid stuff for me now for nearly 3 weeks. Nothing planned except one trip to the cinema so I plan to get the garden looking really good again and may be enter it in a competition.

MSE wise, unbudgetted spends have been some of the dentist costs, need to go again this week, and a new table and chairs, but I'm hoping to juggle things around to avoid using savings.

In true MSE style, I am making flannels from unused towels rather than buying new ones.

Today I will make gooseberry fool for pud for family coming to tea tonight, walk the dogs and do gardening.

I hope anyone reading has a great day.

Morning diary. It's a good job I didn't have any specific plans for the holiday as everyone else keeps finding me things to do, some good, some just errands.

So a quick round up - have gone over budget because of dental work, new table and chairs, and will possibly go further over as one of the dogs isn't quite right, so may need a vet visit. Have had a good time including going to the cinema with DD. DS has postponed his wedding.
Also may find some relief now from the pain which has been bugging all my joints as I've finally gone to the doc and hospital.

Thanks HB. I've a couple of conditions including arthritis. Am hoping that dosage is now almost right as I got 5 hours pain free sleep last night.

I've been shopping this morning and filled the tank with petrol. Just having a break and was planning to walk the dogs then cut the grass, but it is now pouring with rain. I will however get in the greenhouse and have a tidy in there.

Wow, I didn't post at all in September. Was back at work and busy busy.

I don't have arthritis after all, but I still have pain so need to speak to the specialist to see if it's a reaction to other drugs. Any how, had a wisdom tooth out in September which is only just settling down after 3 weeks. I have lost 5lbs though, so every cloud.

MSE wise - money is just pouring out of the accounts at the moment - dentist, opticians, car tyres, car insurance, the list goes on. So in trying to pull the purse strings in a bit, DSs birthday will not be a meal out, we're going to throw a little party for him here.

The money-pouring-out things seems to happen fairly regularly here, too, with planned expenditure often being outstripped by the unplanned but vital spends that can't be avoided. Just as well there's a pot of savings to dip into, because the one thing I know about doing accounts, for businesses or myself, is that income is always slightly less than I'd thought, and expenditure is always more than expected.

    It's The Law, apparently.

Morning diary and morning HB if you're reading. Yet another month has passed and it still seems to be the law that there is more expenditure than income at the moment.

I have been a little more relaxed about using savings, the bulk of my Xmas present shopping is now done, and I've actually put the rest of our savings into decent accounts. Oh and in only it's second draw, I won £25 on the premium bonds.

Plans now are to finish the Xmas present shopping. We have saved all our coop rewards this year, so food is covered. And go into the New Year with a fresh plan to stay in budget.

So I've already checked the banking this morning. Transferred another £500 to better savings account. Will have to wait now till I've saved some more as there is a minimum investment amount so that's that excitement gone for a while.

DD has paid back some more money that she owes me. Today's spends should just be some fish for tea. Of course that doesn't include any 'bargains' DH may decide to buy.
