Didn't go out with the dogs on Sunday that cost any money, so the £10 was spent on a winter coat for Poppet instead.
Final car loan repayment just made - we are now officially DEBT-FREE.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Good afternoon diary. Still debt free and budgets intact which is the way I intend to keep them, so this will be my last post in this diary. Thank you to everyone who has read, thanked and commented on the way.Spend less now, work less later.0

Morning diary. I am back. Not because I'm back in debt again, but because life isn't especially rosy at the moment and I need somewhere to gather my thoughts and moan without bringing down any of the other threads.
So still debt free which is hopefully how things will stay, and I'm now focussing on saving, although I'm not sure exactly what for. Old age, buy a house? Who knows? I've joined a couple of challenges so will try to keep up with those. Details in the signature for anyone reading.
January has not been a good month.
Badly sprained my ankle which four weeks on is recovering but I still can't do all the things I'd like to, including training for the York 10K in August. Has meant I haven't lost any more weight either, but also haven't put it back on.
DH had break in at the paid stuff. £3k of stock taken.
DS had a weapon wielding baddy in his shop. These things constantly worry me.
My paid stuff is just pants. Role is being diminished constantly so its always an uphill battle.
DD had flu but is on the mend now.
And we're currently living in chaos while a new kitchen, bathroom and downstairs loo are being fitted.
And the worst of it - really worried about DH who has lost 3 stone in just over a month. He looks awful, people are commenting on how ill he looks. Now he is an alcoholic although he did manage 25 days of dry January but normally he's a functioning one. Now he has no energy, pains in his chest, pins and needles down his legs. Anyway, he's going to go to the doctor, hopefully this week.
On a positive note, I am able to get out and walk the dogs again round the block, and they're available for cuddles at all times.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
So it would seem that February is not going to be any better than January as DH really is ill. Screaming inside while being strong....aaaaaaghhh...and not allowed to tell anyone in RL.Spend less now, work less later.0

Didn't realize you had a diary Jazee. Sounds like you need a hand. Hang on in there mate.0

Jazee, I'm very sorry to hear that your husband is so ill. Having to keep it a secret puts enormous pressure on you, especially if none of your close family know yet.
Please be kind to yourself and let off steam here when it all gets too much in RL. Coping with other people's illness is never easy, but I know your MSE friends will listen and offer support if you want to rant or cry or ask "Why us?" We may not have the answer, but we will do our best to uphold you through the difficult times.
Big (((hugs))) x0 -
Well said ionafan. Don't let the pressure build up. Thoughts are with you.0

Jazee,
If DH is an alcoholic and managed 25 dry days, he is a hero, well done him! The illness might well be related...so I hope the Dr can help there.
You have plenty of time tp prepare for a 10km so chill Winston! Do some seated upperbody stuff at home, and then rebuild the ankle strength when its healed.
How frightening for your DS.0
