Spends likely on this cold Sunday -
Send cheque to MIL - will be done - she can't manage on her pension anymore when unexpected issues arise.
Maybe go to car boot sale.
Food shopping for the week.
That should be it.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
So another week whizzes by. I only bought 2 books for £1 at the car boot sale btw.
Pay day has been and overall this coming month in the run up to Xmas, we should be ok but I don't expect to be able to squirrel away any savings, or raid them either which is good.
Parking fine paid. I'm going shopping today with DD, but will try to use the vouchers I won before actually paying for anything, that's assuming I see anything I want/need.
And tomorrow I need to work out which Xmas presents I still need to buy.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Apart from one thing all Christmas shopping is now done. I'll get a better idea of exactly where the finances are once I've been paid tomorrow and go through the books.Spend less now, work less later.0

So I'm up really early and have done the books and it's not looking too bad at all. And I actually put £50 into savings.Spend less now, work less later.0

A bit of a wasted week this week due to illness, but it means low spends as I haven't been eating and I've saved another £160 as I haven't gone out either. Every cloud eh?Spend less now, work less later.0

And did I mention that the fence has blown down in the high winds last week. DH managed to do a quick fix to keep the dogs in the garden, and got some new posts and concrete to do a better job. However, due to the continuing bad weather he's not been able to go out to do that. Last night fence is down again and it would appear in bits. So it may turn out to be more expensive than just the posts and concrete. We shall see.
Other than that, low spends yesterday, just on wormer and chews for the dogs which was budgeted for. And paid cash (so I consider it money already removed from the budgets) on some lunch for DD and her boyfriend who came to help me sort out the living room and put up the Christmas tree.
I'm hoping I won't spend anything today and as I'm feeling a lot better hope to achieve something - some exercise and cleaning.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Wow what a day. Surprise cheque from bank for £1600 for mis selling of a loan 5 years ago and I've £80 to come back in work expenses. Hadn't realised it has added up that much.
Have squirrelled away another £59 to savings too.
Spends this weekend - haircut and last of the Christmas presents, both budgeted for.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I've squirrelled another £50 to savings this morning as we hadn't used our 'entertainment' budget this week.
Going out today but spends should be minimal really. Need to pay in bumper cheque and get the last Christmas present as I didn't get it last weekend.
Its been decided that we'll get a professional job done on fixing the fence. DH has said that it really is beyond his skills, so in line with my rules around using savings, this means once the fence is done, I'll have to get the savings up to £5k before I can splurge on getting a new wardrobe. The doors are hanging off the current one.
Oh and my haircut last week was cheaper as I ended up having just a dry cut. The hairdresser says this is all I need going forward as my hair is much longer now. Result.
I hope anyone reading has a great day.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Low spends here now as Christmas shopping is done and wrapped and I've just sent DH a list of odds and ends to get.
Spends this week will include £25 for LittleDogs grooming and can't really think of much else.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Well, another Christmas kind of done & dusted. We're having another dinner with DD and her OH here tomorrow. Just cooking the turkey and gammon now.
Spends over the last couple of days:
Xmas day: drinks at the pub - £23.95 (out of entertainment budget)
Yesterday: hotel so I can go to a concert DD bought me tickets for: £70 (also came out of entertainment budget)
Today, I'm hoping for no spends.Spend less now, work less later.0
