Wow, over a week since I last posted and what a week it has been. New loan is sorted out saving us money and bringing our debt free date forward from March 2015 to July 2014. A new budget has been worked out and things are looking ok.

Changing leccy supplier is still in progress as I've yet to hear back and get the cash back. I'm starting to use a signature on here again to keep track of the debt and to keep track of what we're spending on groceries.

I've decided to run my stores of food down over the summer and then replenish in time for the winter snow which sometimes leaves us stranded in the village.

It was payday this week and spends so far:

    Celebration meal out
    Avon order
    Charity night out
    Groceries

    All budgeted for.

Charity night out was fantastic with a couple of excellent prizes won on the raffle.

So to today, too hot to do much but will pop to the school fair later.

I hope anyone reading has a good weekend.

Another very hot day. I have hoovered through the house already but don't plan on doing anything else other than my nails.

Yesterday, the confirmation of new leccy tariff came. No mention of reduced DD payments but at least we are paying less per thingmebob till Feb next year, and I should soon get the £30 cashback.

Am hoping today will be a NSD as I am just going to be on the sun lounger.

Hope anyone reading has a good day.

So today wasn't a NSD as I succumbed to an ice cream and got some sweeties from the shop. Never mind, tomorrow won't be a NSD either!

    Unplanned spends today:

Two, yes two, fans which are being delivered tomorrow as all shops seem to have sold out
    Donation to colleagues leaving gift

Am just waiting for DH to come home with fresh food and can then see what I need to add to my grocery spend.

Will definitely be eating out of the freezer tomorrow.

OK so £80 now spent on groceries this week. Meant to say, had the leccy letter, will be saving £19 per month and getting the cash back, so overall saving is £258 over a year (although its only fixed to Feb) and this is with the same supplier. The world is mad...

Woohoo again, another NSD. We were going to go out for a meal tonight but DH says its too hot to even bother going out so I'm not going to argue. I'd got some chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow but will now stir fry that later. Tomorrow, burgers from the freezer I think so will get DH to bring home some suitable buns but should be minimal spend.

Got £20 credit on phone/TV bill today as compo for losing sports channels. Every little helps, the phone bill was bigger than usual due to me voting for DS to win a competition (still got fingers crossed) , so this has offset most of it.

Hope anyone reading is enjoying the sunshine.

Little spend today on groceries but DH has stocked up on YS snack items which will not go to waste and should be about a month's supply. I do not care that they are out of date. If they've been on the shelf for months already, what difference does a few days make?

Today I made 2 decisions. The first is to cash in some shares so I should have about £1k soon to add to the ISA. The second is to get a composter.

I've been having a read up on it and it all seems pretty straightforward and these are the benefits as I see them, although any advice welcome:

    * the cost. I can get a 220l bin for £18 delivered, on H*mebase website they are £40 + delivery
    * the initial outlay should be recovered in a year or so from what I will save on buying compost
    * I will be doing my bit to reduce even more waste

Jazee, our local council hands out composter bins for free. Might be worth a phonecall ?
