DH got our shopping on his way home from the paid stuff and we've spent just under £40 for this week. I'm hoping we don't have to add to it too much as the week progresses. Really we should have enough food in the cupboards to feed us.
Have just got some free cinema tickets for the BH weekend. I'll be going on my own as everyone else is working but at least I won't be at home feeling I should just be doing housework.
DD and I also went to the cinema with free tickets earlier in the week to watch We are the Millers. It was sooooo funny. The evening didn't work out totally free though as I had to go from the office rather than home so we grabbed something to eat. However, I'm hoping that my expenses will cover it.
Am going to catch up on a few diaries on here tonight and just chill out. Might have to get a second portion of cheesecake though to keep me going!Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I had a day out with DH yesterday so another little splurge. Today should be better as its mainly just gardening day.
Weigh in this morning, I've put on a pound, DH has lost one which is all negligible really and we must try harder.
Ooh and got two packets of sweets out of the vending machine yesterday instead of just the one I paid for. And I wonder why I'm not losing weight.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
So today was better spend wise than yesterday as my only spend was for an ice cream as a reward for all the gardening I finally did.
DH worked so hard, cleaning the car, weeding (next door as well). We both ache now and DH has been asleep for about an hour.
This is why I'm not losing weight. Today I have eaten:
Bacon roll
Chilli prawns with noodles
Ice cream
Melon
Roast beef dinner
Pancake with banana & cream
Crisps
Must try harder tomorrow although tea is already going to be pie. Who ate all the pies? Me, me, me.....Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Still spending too much (must stop the odd trips here and there to local shop) and still eating too much (linked really!).
My shares have been sold and whereas the last lot went straight in the bank, this time the eejits sent me a cheque, so I've got to wait for it to clear. And once again, it won't be going in the savings as now DH's car is due a service and he does a lot of miles.
I'll be lucky if out of £1000 I can manage to save £200 and I still need to get the shower repaired/replaced. And then there are all the smaller things that have to be done, like renewing DH's driving license, getting a new gas bottle etc etc. Oh and the toilet seat has broken so that needs replacing.
Anyway onwards and upwards.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
My username really should be 'spendstoomuchofselby'. Seriously we are going to break the monthly shopping budget in less than three weeks. It has to stop. Although the chocolates I'm currently munching are very nice.
Anyway, I will try to keep spending to a minimum this weekend. Trip out using EH membership tomorrow, free cinema followed by tastecard meal on Sunday, and a stay at home alone day for me on Monday, so shouldn't be too bad.
Oops, last choccie gone. and I've got to start on tea soon.
Hope everyone reading is ok and has a lovely BH weekend.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Spends today:
Cafe £11 - could have been avoided had we worked out our timings properly for EH visit
Fresh bread etc - £7 - necessity
Petrol £47 - necessity
Programme £2 - not essential but interesting
Lottery - £12 - really need to get this under control esp as price going up in a couple of months
£20 - renewal of driving license photo - necessary to avoid £1000 fine
Had a lovely time out with DH and DD, home now and DH is preparing tonight's tea so I've been able to laze with the paper and do puzzles. Now on here. Will walk the dogs later if it stops raining but other than that, no definite plans.
Hope anyone reading is having a good day.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I forgot that I paid £6.40 for DD's entrance to EH place yesterday. Also spent £5 on wine for DH last night - an ongoing problem which I personally can't find a solution too as I just don't have the strength of character to deal with it properly.
DD has announced that she's not eating carbs Mon-Fri any more so I thought that good, I don't have to make any more sandwiches for her, but she's put in a request for my fancy salad boxes instead. I know I should make her do her own, but it's that strength of character lacking again.
Anyway, will be spending money today on bus fare and lunch (using tastecard) as I'm having a day out with DS's fiancee. Free cinema though - thanks MSE.
I hope anyone reading has a great day.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I had lovely day yesterday, was naughty and treated myself, so am now literally waiting for pay day as I will not touch the savings having already spent the shares money. Even if I wanted to go out today it would be a no no.
Things to still get done:
New toilet seat
Shower repair/replacement
In good news amazingly I had lost a little weight in the weekly weigh in with DH.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
So the things outstanding in the last post are still outstanding. Haha and to add to the list, DH will in the next month need four new tyres for the car, so I need to budget in £400 somewhere. However, to help me along, I got the £30 cashback for changing leccy supplier recently.
Planning ahead as it's pay day this week, extra spends this month will be:
Holiday £460
DD b'day £120
Next month:
Friends visiting £100
Tyres £400
Holiday £200
DS b'day £120
And I currently owe £14 to my pennies pot. Hopefully all plans should be doable as long as I'm stricter this month with my budgets than I was during August.
Happy September everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I wasn't going to update the diary today as I feel as though I should be in grumpy corner, only reason will be DH's drinking, really getting on my nerves this week.
Anyway, still waiting for payday, still got DS asking for money (he really must get himself sorted out now), still owe my pot £14.
On a plus note got a few pounds share dividends, not much, but that is to be expected when you cash in a load of shares and fritter the money away.
I need to focus during September and get back on track. There, that's me told.Spend less now, work less later.0
