Morning diary. I fibbed yesterday when I said that Monday had been a NSD. I'd forgotten that I'd sponsored two people. I now have a request to sponsor someone else, can I say no or will I just feel guilty? They are all such good causes. Do other people have 'rules' on this kind of thing, I wonder?
Anyway, expenses have been paid in bank, and vet bill yesterday was more than I anticipated so probably just as well.

Morning diary. Not a lot to report really except that yesterday would have been a NSD had it not been for another two sponsorship donations. They were for really good causes and for people I know really well, but I've used nearly all my own spend money for the month on charity now and I've not much more than a fiver left. I've also said I'll attend a friend's charity fundraiser at the end of the month and I can't duck out of it now. Maybe they'll be happy with just my £5.
Anyway, am hoping today will be NSD. Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning diary. So yesterday DH got some YS stuff on his way home from the paid stuff. Another change then to the menu tonight, it will now be a Mexican feast although I'm not entirely sure what to serve with burritos and enchilladas. Roasted veg?
Last night was a rubbish sleep as the battery was running out on the smoke detector and it was four hours before DH agreed to get up and take it out. Must remember to put another one in today as I obviously survived the night fire free.
Its pouring with rain here today, so I haven't been out with the dogs yet, but it has meant that I've finally dusted and hoovered our bedroom which has been on my to do list all week.
Right, I'll try and do a few more jobs now before the paid stuff, get that out of the way, and then enjoy a long weekend with DH, although we will be visiting DS and fiancee and I'm not really looking forward to that. What to say?

Today we had a rare family day, just the four of us like when they were little. MSE wise not good as we had a little splurge, dinner out and a few treats but well worth it as we laughed a lot and recharged our batteries after the tragedy of last week. Although the weeks ahead will be difficult for DS and his fiancee, I think today has done some good.
DH is just cooking our tea and I'm looking forward to spending the next two days chilling with him.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Had a great long weekend with DH but back to the paid stuff grind now. Our debt has now gone below £10k for the first time and it is lovely to see only four figures instead of five. Simple things. Also this week, we will make the last payment on one of our loans so can then start throwing the money at the last two.
I have a feeling my bonus may be going on our gas & electric bill. We had a bill today and we owe nearly £100 and they are putting up our monthly payments to £115. I don't think so. This is my own fault as I couldn't be bothered to go online to sort out a new tariff when our fixed price ended in April. Time to put that right.
More YS stuff in the freezer today, so all good. Hope everyone else is on track too.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Well I had a very MSE morning before the paid stuff. Sorted out new tariff for gas & electric, saving £98 per year and £30 cashback, with same supplier again. Madness! Then I opted for online BT billing to save £1.50 per month. Then I took delivery of a raised planter with lots of veggie plants for free, even includes the compost. I just need the rain to stop now so I can plant them properly.
Now for the not very MSE stuff. I am not keeping very well to needs not wants and also I damaged DHs car yesterday and it's going to cost over £150 to repair, so guess what my bonus is going on now.....Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Ok so I made a simple error in my finances yesterday. I transferred money between accounts to make sure I didn't go overdrawn, then promptly started spending it on shopping in my haste to use the £12 off Sainsbobs voucher. I only ordered items they do cheaper and after delivery have saved about £9. More juggling between accounts this morning when I realised my mistake. Phew.
Weekend spends will be minimal fresh food, lunch out with DD today, school fair and charity fundraiser tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
In my MSE trip of a lifetime to rid myself of debt, I can report that today we made the final payment on one of our loans. Just two to go so I am going to find out how I can make overpayments on the others now.
On the other side of the coin, I am not impressed with Sainsbobs home delivery. The only thing going for it was that it arrived in the allocated one hour slot, but I don't like their substitution policy, much prefer Mr T for that. Not that it matters, I am not a loyal shopper anyway.
Today's spend was just my prescription, keeps me healthier but I begrudge the cost all the same.
Hope all forumites are ok....Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Well done on paying off the loan, I'm sure you will have the others paid off in no time.0

So I phoned the bank to sort out over payments and it would actually cost me more in the long run, so no to that then. The alternative is consolidation of the two remaining loans, which is now in process, as it will save us nearly £300 in total and brings my debt free date forward by 8 months. Also, we won't be using all of the money saved from the recent loan we paid off so will have £90 a month free to save.
We will be debt free in a year (or less) and We will one day own our own home.Spend less now, work less later.0
