Don't want to cause a massive argument about the pass plus, but I think I'll do it purely because motorways scare me. Any thing else is an afterthought

Besides, the council where my university is at, supports pass plus, so I'm guessing I could get some sort of discount

Just for CAJEF. I have just done 4 insurance quotes, In the hope of showing him/her? How little discount a passplus gives.

I was going to prove how little discount they offer, But it seems some dont even bother asking.
Out of the 4 comparison site quotes. I didnt find ANY that offered even £1 off.

Unless you find a company that actually ask about it 1st then its not going to save you money. You dont need pass plus to get motorway experience.
Most instructors will offer refresher lessons or motorway lessons when you pass.

17 year old Male. Licence held for 3 months. DE14 postcode. 2002 Vauxhall Corsa Club 1199cc.

So am I spouting off? Or quoting real facts?

Spouting off, as an instructor I did dozens of Pass Plus courses, and all my pupils got reasonable discounts from companies I recommended, quotes from comparison sites are worthless you need to speak to the company in order to get the discounts.

If pupils want refresher courses or motorway lessons then they end up paying for lessons with no benefit apart from the experience it gives them, try reading what the Pass Plus course consists of it gives them far more practical experience after they have just passed their test not just motorway driving and at least they will get a reduction in the insurance no matter how small, this is a money saving website telling people that they cannot save money is giving misleading information, just because you could not find discounts does not mean they are not available.
