Advice for somebody who has hit an all time low

Sadly I have hit a all time low, want to avoid gp. If you could give me one piece of advise what would it be?
Go to your GP.
If things really are as bad as that, then you ought to see him/her. You sound as if you need a break from your feelings if nothing else.4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0 -
Treat every day as a new day and tell yourself that it will be better than yesterday. Get out in the fresh air and walk, anywhere.0

You can completely change your life around, but only if you can be bothered to make the first step.
Clear your head, and think about where you want to go in your life. There's a way out of nearly every situation - you just need to identify it and break it down into manageable chunks.
Your advice is spot on and extremely sound. However if someone has hit an all time low due to depression, then trying to attempt to help themselves can seem like climbing a mountain. Its not a matter of being bothered or not, depression is crippling emotionally.
Without knowing why you are feeling at an all time low it is difficult to know how to advise you OP. I also wouldn't discount speaking with your gp. If he/she hasn't been helpful or shown any empathy in the past then ask the practice manager at the surgery if you can speak with another doctor. A different perspective may help you find a way forward. You could just ask for a referral for counselling if you dont want to go into details with the doctor.
Hope you will be okay
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
Excercise, healthy eating, and call a confidential help line to discuss the issues and see how you can approach them?0

Go to your GP, other advice is good but it's very difficult to get motivated/ have the confidence/ think straight when you are clinically depressed or otherwise suffering with your mental health. Often medication is the first step to stability.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

listen to some bouncy music and consider taking starflower tablets. Hope you are feeling better soonMy opinion is neither copyrighted nor trademarked, and it's price competitive. If you like, I'll trade for one of yours.0

Why do you want to avoid the GP?
People I know who have been seriously low to the point of not being able to doing anything meaningful during their waking hours have only got better after seeing the GP, and either having a physical problem sorted resulting in a corresponding improvement in mood, or if not physical of origin being given either/or anti-depressants and counselling. Or being admitted to hospital for treatment.
At least the GP can rule out treatable physical problems for a start. After that it would be your choice whether you wished to accept anti-depressant treatment.0 -
Talk to someone.
Whether that's your GP, a friend, your OH, family, the samaritans.... just talk to someone.
I would agree but it depends on who you talk to. If you talk to someone and they say something unhelpful or make light of your feelings it can do more harm than good.
If you are suffering from depression, and a lot of people do at some time in their lives, then you need proper professional help. Thats what your GP is there for and there is no shame in it.
Its important to know that you are not alone. A lot of people go through this and come out the other side. Be kind to yourself, dont feel guilty about feeling low. Try and find things you like to do, fresh air and exercise, a good book, a nice soak in the bath, something on telly that takes you away from it for an hour. Little things that just pick you up a bit. Keep posting on here if you cant talk to anyone else.0 -
go to the GP - sorry!
but you could be affected by thyroid problems, anaemia, vitamin deficiency, and a hundred other physical things. They all need ruling out.
Then if you have depression you can decide whether or not you want to take medicines or look at other ways to feel better.
As others have said, dancing or a walk in fresh air will often help if its not deep depression. With Sparkles! :happylove And Shiny Things!0 -
