Yes, it does. The OP is entitled to feel that HER party is important.

Just because your husband died doesn't mean that she can't grieve over her losses and what she didn't get. She has in no shape or fashion stated the loss of her party is more important than your loss. She is someone who has hit her lowest ebb, and is asking for help.

Londonsurrey neither of our experiences have any effect on the OP, and she may not even have read the recent posts.

One reason I have always tried to accept painful experiences without riling against the unfairness of the world, is that I believe one cannot appreciate the truly amazing things that happen in our lives, if we have not suffered through bad times.

So I reckon that if the OP really thinks about it, she'll decide that her party is not a topic that should send her "to her lowest ebb."
If she's really grieving for her Mum - the fact that Mum will not be there to share her milestone - that's a lot more understandable. If my guess is right, I hope OP can acknowledge her grief, and maybe plan something different for that day - a trip somewhere Mum loved, or something indulgent just for her and maybe whoever she's closest to?

I'm guessing your Ds and your Fs are now getting confused, but the thought of gt, a giant wok, and some gently steaming underwear has amused me briefly ...

Sometimes, there's nothing wrong with being a miserable cow.

Snigger, I did mean dry, but I sometimes do odd things.

You're right, but better a cheery moo.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
