im a little confused , you say you care for your partner full time ... but then in the next breath you claim your not living together .. how can you be at your partners side full time and maintain your own home...or is full time in this case just 36 hours
a week ?

You inconsiderate, miserable 'person'. (freedom of speech to which I am entitled. I modified the last word but I would like to use something stronger)
My partner has tried to work but nobody wants to employ her because of insurance risks due to her epilepsy. She has two types and doesn't know what she is doing or where she is some of the time. She also suffers from near paralysis due a severely injured back. Perhaps she should take a job on a building site.
Which bits of my messages don't you lot understand? Nobody will employ her and she is supposed to be in receipt of constant attention. Not that this is going to happen unless we somehow play the system which we do not want to do hence taking it to the CAB.
Now hopefully the moderators will remove me from the forum because: 1. I cannot work out how to do it myself and 2. Because idiots like you cause stress to those who least need it.
No doubt you would still have a go at us if we couldn't work because we were DEAD!

ok.... you clearly have some issues you need to sort out
1. you live in seperate housing ,,, this is clearly costing you both a lot of money .. down size find something together
2. you can do something , you said you had your own business perhaps you might condiser doing avon/kleeneaze/annsummers or something to bring you money in if you cannot claim the benefts you think you should
3. i understand its difficult but when you come on to the internet looking for advice you will get the rough with the smooth , no one on here is questioning your partners ability to work (not that i have seen) but are questioning why your running two households when it would be better to run just one .
4. the benefit system is changing and its getting more and more difficult to claim and get money so listen to some of the advice your being given
5. if your going to throw your toys out of the pram then expect people to get upset

I Hope they mention this website on the TV and how "horrible" we've all been.
I still don;t understand why the OP can;t get someone else to care for his partner whilst he is out working? that is what the "carers" allowance is for. isn't it? or have I missed something fundamentally wrong here?0 -
Yes, there are issues.
I ceased being a sole trader in 2007. Apologies if I gave the impression that I still was. Maybe this is why some of you have been so harsh. Understandable.
As it happens, we are looking into some small trading of the kind you mention, robpw2. NOT while claiming benefits of course.
If only you knew how much stress we are under. Nothing is straight-forward anymore.0 -

Your figures agree with those given to us today by the CAB, but there is one difference.
You state that we would only be £26 per week worse off. That is not correct.
It iscorrect
Should I receive ESA at £212 (every two weeks), and add this to my partner's £310 (every two weeks) which she currently receives, this totals £522.you would only get £71 because you have failed the ESA
These figures are for single people. but the figure you quote for your ESA is incorrect as .you would only get £71 because you have failed the ESA medical
If I claim CA my benefit becomes £106 for two weeks, a drop of £106.
No you would get a total of £106 a week with I.S top up and your Carers Allowance included
This results in a new joint income of £416. This is whether I live with my partner or we live separately. So that's a drop in benefits of £106, which is twice what you are saying.
No if you lived with your partner this is incorrect anyway...
You still haven't included the drop in ESA she will also have to incurs, roughly (I forget the exact figures - tired and need sleep :O) but we were told it was £172 for two weeks.
No just her SDP £58 ish per week
I must admit it is difficult to understand so we will sit tight and await the CAB's response.
Thanks again for your help.
I still say you will be £26 per week worse off if you move in together but better off, one set of bills etc etc
No wonder you are confused
But see what they say anyway.
A joint claim will always pay less then two single claims0 -
It certainly is the view that it's cheaper for 2 people to share a house rather than keep 2 separate houses. If your are going to move in with her, I think you can expect to lose out. After all you're losing hb and CTB on the other place, it's one lot of heating, one lot of electricity, one lot of water rates etc. Think how much you would save on these things by moving in with your partner rather than just what you would be losing on benefits. And as previously stated your ESA would drop to assessment rate anyway.
I'm certainly not having a go at you by saying this, I'm pro disabled. I just think if you love each other, she needs the help, you could find a way of making it work. I know it's not the easiest to get by on benefits. So please don't misconstrue my post as having a go, hope it works out for u both4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Well all i can say is if this is meant for me then you are a vile human being. It's ok having a go at the people who disagree with you but a some point in your life don't you ever think maybe they are right?
I couldn't care less if you are stuggling to be honest because you are not a nice man. In your earlier posts it seems that they think YOU are fit for work so go back. I have seen the heart ache that illness causes 24/7 not just when i feel like it. I have listened to my mother on the phone when my dad was constantly having fits crying saying she doesn't know how they are going to survive. I have been with my dad when he has had a fit and nearly had my finger bitten off trying to make sure he hadn't swallowed his tongue. I have at age 8 held his broken leg (he is 6 foot 2) while he had a fit because he had a pointed spike sticking out of his heel from where he shattered it WORKING! so he didn't injur himself more.
My mother stayed with my dad because she loves him because he is her life. My sister and I love him dearly and though we are now moved out with family of our own if they ever needed help again we would be there like a shot not because of FINACIAL GAIN because he is our daddy and we love him. THINGS LIKE THIS MAKE ME SICK. I hope one day you realise life is not just what you can get for nothing:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:0
