Last Saturday went into the hall to see someone, through the glass panel, trying to push the front door open.

....No need for it as we have a doorbell, which everyone else seems to locate.

I was handed the parcel and the Yodel delivery man then leapt onto my front wall, shouting'Olympics!' , while a white van turned round.

Sometimes we leave the front door open, so it's scary to think that the delivery man could have pushed his way into the house. Especially since we have a teenage daughter.

Because its not the Post Office, you just don't know who is at your door and if they are honest or not.

How many Post Office staff come to your door?

I ordered something from Amazon that I need urgently, after the order went through I was then informed it would be sent by Yodel. As I have NEVER had a delivery arrive correctly from Yodel I am now very worried this item will never get to me. I am away from midweek and no-one will be around if they leave it on the doorstep or in the bin (both of which they have done before). I wish I could be told beforehand who the courier is going to be and I would have ordered elsewhere.

    Yodel deliveries

    Delivery 1 - Never came
    Delivery 2 - On time
    Delivery 3 - Late

    HDNL deliveries

Delivery 1 - delivered to the neighbour of the wrong address
Delivery 2 - some of my delivery was sent to the wrong depot/direction

    DHL

    No issues

    UPS deliveries

Every delivery has been on time with no issues.

Hate to tell you but dhl is yodel,
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I've stopped buying from companies that use yodel and started to phone the supplier and ask whether they can offer a royal mail alternative. I have succeeded in some cases.I guess the only way for them to get the message is to cost them business. My courier is vile, and I always get the same block. The help desk won't take complaints about him seriously so now I just tell the companies I buy from that I won't accept yodel at all. Let's see if that gets their attention as they are so unapproachable and so lacking in responsiblity and any change of culpability.
Thank you to all the money savers:beer: for all the wisdom, companionship, bargains, competitions and ideas:T you have made a transformation to our household, Thank you, it would have been so much harder without you and together we are amazing :A:smileyhea

Their boss appears to have very rosetinted glasses about the quality of service. Even the depot staff complained about drivers not taking parcels and just signing stuff as either carded or delivered. Maybe the boss should go undercover to work to see what really happens.

  • I have to admit that I groaned a little when I got to the end of placing my mobile upgrade and the customer adviser service advisor told me it would be couriered by Yodel. I should have cancelled there and then. She gave me a slot for this Monday coming and told me someone would have to sign at the property. Yesterday I received a text from Yodel saying they had tried to deliver and left a card (oh no they didn't). Unfortunately, the tracking number was texted to me and the phone I am replacing finally died its final death a few minutes later and I have no tracking number. Interesting, DHL also sent me a text at exactly the same time stating they would be delivering today :rotfl:

Last month I ordered third party from Amazon, next day delivery. The next day I got a text message saying they tried to deliver and had left a card. No they hadn't. It tracked to a town 17 miles away. I chased it up through Amazon and checked with most of my neighbours at their request. Amazon told me the card had been signed for at my address by a name that I had never heard of. I checked with all my neighbours. One week later after telling Amazon I wanted to cancel my order I hear a loud knock at the door, a really gruff man hands me a parcel, says 'delivery for ....' (giving my middle name) and left sharpish. I didn't have to sign for anything. How did they redeliver items they swore black was white were already at my property?

^ That is an attempt to defraud, surely. That ticket didn't get accidentally signed. I find the idea that the Chief Exec believes that all these 'rare' incidents have innocent causes laughable. This is their business model, promising a service that they cannot deliver and reneging at every opportunity. That is how these businesses work when there is no meaningful competition.

I fear that I am going to have to go to war and a lot of expense to get my phone delivered, but we shall see by Monday. I might be in the consumer affairs forum asking how to sort out both Carphone Warehouse and Yodel.
  • i orderd stuff from sports direct didnt have a delivery time but i paid extra for faster delivery (which i wish i hadnt bothered now) was out on the tuesday and they left a card, i went online to get it re-deliverd on the wednesday, waited in all day on the wednesday still nothing. phoned them that night at half 7 to b told should b deliverd by 9 that night... waited n still nothin! phoned them on the thursday mornin to b told its not even on the van!

so the guy on the phone told me he will have it deliverd on the friday. so i waited until 1 on friday and phoned yodel back to b told the delivery is still not on the van... which point i was extremly anoyed! and bein pregnant doesnt help either! got told it would MAYB b out for delivery on saturday if not monday at latest... this was from a supervisor who had phoned me back. so waited in on the sat mornin, and thankfuly the parcel did arrive! bt overall i am not happy with there service!

I ordered books from The Book People to be delivered to my flat about 2 weeks ago. Last Wednesday (it seems) a courier pushed a card through the letterbox to say the parcel had been left 'in a safe place' - behind the bins, which are located in front of the building on a busy through road. As there was no name or flat number on the card, or even a date and time when the attempted delivery was made, the card was put in with a load of junk mail up for grabs by anyone in the flats. I finally noticed it on Friday. Surprise, surprise.....no parcel! :(I tracked the delivery online and contacted Yodel. Was told that the driver would be questioned and Book People informed of situation. No timeline given. Don't hold your breath.:mad::mad:
