Tea / coffee & bikkies and use of loo for No1s (No 2s are a no-no) plus not looking over their shoulder ALL the time, payment on time and a thank you/ recommend to others if satisfied should be well sufficient.

    Cheers

:DI'm so glad you qualified that 1:D
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

what's wrong with having a poo in someone's loo? I mean you WOULD clean the loo afterwards with the brush and open the window if it was that smelly, wouldn't you??

it's all about having respect for your customers home, we have been invite there to do a job of work, in the same way that a good trade cleans up & leaves the house in the way that it was found, it's just not repectable to your customer to do that in their home IMO.

+1. Exactly. Whats next? "Got a bit dirty today missus. Could I use your shower please? Save me a bit of time before I go out on the lash with the lads!"

Doing a refurb just recently. Sparkys apprentice says "Is that loo connected". "Might be" says I. "What for?" "Need a poo" he says. Great stuff! So here am I working on the bog and he wants to take a dump expecting me to go on working on it straight after. "Get thee hence (or words in similar vein) down to the gert big ASDA no more than 250 metres down the road and leave your deposit there." says I. Is this an electricians trait? You know, a bit like leaving all those bits of copper wire lying about all over the floor for the other trades to kneel on?

    Cheers

there was me thinking it was just my sparkie that did that, i guess it's part of the apenticeship training, it's only taken me 3 yrs for my sparkie to realise what a dust pan & brush is used for :T

window is pretty much always open when someone is home in my house anyway. However, don't have a loo brush as I think they are nasty unhygienic things so that wouldn't be an option. I think my builder definitely marked 'his' territory in my loo on at least one occasion but he subsequently did the dirty on me in many other ways, so I guess it was a sign of things to come:mad:

Just having the kitchen done at the mo, the kitchen fitter is so nice and really hard working.

I dont drink tea and coffee but have got the kettle set up in the dining room and have got tea, coffee, sugar and some biscuits in and on day one said where the loo was.

I have to remember to make hot drinks, offered the delivery driver a drink this morning as he had been lugging heavy fittings and white goods off for ages and up our drive plus it was raining.

This chap is worth his weight in gold very friendly, tidy doing extra jobs.

He's spotted another small job not related to the kitchen that needs doing and has offered to fix that free of charge. I was also phoned when out to offer me a lift back from the bus as it was pouring with rain - that was so unexpected but very nice.

I shall either round the final cheque up a bit or maybe look into a crate of beers or a voucher for a meal or something and will see if he does indepenant work. Would also recommend the company to friends/ family/at work and will be writing a letter of thanks to the company manager and saying how good this chap is.

That kind of sums it up, find a good bloke and look after him, even if his colesterole goes through the roof, ;)

But the bold bit is always a bit dodgy, you will lose any protection you have via the parent companies insurance and any waranty.

    Take care.
