I did a two day job for a self employed painter (you would have thought he would know better) & him & his wife were home for the whole of the two days, on the first day they made themselves loads of cups of tea & never once asked if i wanted one, so on the second day i turned the water off at 8-30 & didn't turn it back on til 5-00 (even though i had no reason to turn it off at all), totally wrong i know but i did leave the job with a smile on my face :D

This would be virtually impossible to enforce :rotfl:

Why on earth couldn't someone take a dump if they need to??? And what on earth would you say beforehand? "Here is the bathroom, but please do not crap herein."?????

I think 'allowing' them to use the toilet beats the alternative hands down :rotfl:

  • i'm a little weirded out that my builders haven't used my toilet yet...

i haven't mentioned the toilet, but they've both been upstairs, talking to me next to and in the bathroom etc, didn't think to let them know they can use it, thought that was pretty obvious

You don't have to enforce it. Every self-respecting tradesman respects other peoples property.

Because you work out beforehand where the nearest pub, petrol station or supermarket is whose facilities can be used for this purpose if it becomes necessary.

The alternative is as described above. What alternative are you talking about?

I'm sure you don't need me to draw a picture of the alternative :rotfl:

I think most people, builders or not, wouldn't want to do this, but there is always the chance they could be caught short.
